Just bought my sunday day passes. $144 per with fees. Good thing I really wanna see Muse and Bleachers cause man that got pricey quick!
this was a bit hustlin backwards, because i bet you could get 4 day passes for 100 bucks next week. however on the other hand, thank you for making it more likely Firefly 2018 occurs

I have been to Firefly 14-16, volunteering in 2016. I have to work on Friday and a wedding on Saturday, so I can only go on Sunday

I'm tempted to go up and get one of those free passes and give it to one of my friends since I'm off tomorrow lol. But I would be hella pissed to drive up and then not get one.

So this seems like something that isnt really publicized by Firefly much. How early do you think youd have to get in line for a 9 pm show to get the free passes?

That's kinda what I'm wondering. I think the Facebook event page only shows like 25 people saying they are going lol.

I was planning on going next Friday just for the day but that $144 price tag is just not worth it, nor is the energy to hunt down a cheap day pass that day while driving down from New York.
This is my groups favorite festival, and it sucks that the lineup was crappy enough to make us not go for the first time.
Hopefully this year is a wake up call and they learn their lesson next year. Stop being cute and chasing the trendy picks like Weeknd, TOP, Chance. Go all in for the big alt-rockers (Arcade Fire, Strokes, Pearl Jam, Foo, Black Keys, Jack White, shit even Coldplay) and people will come back.

I have a friend that lives in Philly, and is going, about this and suggested he goes over at 8:30, in order to get a free ticket for another friend who has been reluctant to come. We will see if 8:30 works

Do you really think if you flip twenty one pilots and The Strokes they would have sold more tickets?
This fest still has the site under contract for 4 more years. Hopefully they turn it around because the Dover Speedway js a great fest setting
They are signed up for a lot longer if they can get enough people to come out. With NASCAR attendances rapidly decreasing, Dover Downs will figure out some way to make this thing stick around.
In September 2014, Red Frog Events LLC formed RFGV Festivals LLC - a joint venture with Goldenvoice that promotes Firefly. Goldenvoice is owned by AEG Live, one of the world’s largest presenters of live music and entertainment events. We entered into an amended agreement with RFGV Festivals granting them two 5 year options to extend our facility rental agreement through 2032 (from its original expiration date of 2022) in exchange for a rental commitment to secure our property for up to two festivals per year.

god damnit i want this fest to put out decent lineups again
Seems like Firefly is the master of "keeping you just interested enough to keep paying attention" so I'd expect a rebound next year. At least to a 2016 level (which all thing considered was a perfectly acceptable lineup for what Firefly is). They really put all their chips on the Beyonce bet and were like a chicken with it's head cut off scrambling when that fell through.

Goldenvoice ruined Firefly
I was somewhat concerned when the previous Festival Director left to join the Minnesota Vikings after last year's festival. Clearly they have failed with a lot this year, but hopefully they learn from it.
I am probably going to do Sunday but not for face. Anyone moving their 4 day cause they are not making Sunday let me know
If you just want to go Sunday then your best bet is just to go to the hub/camping/bridge area that morning and buying a wristband off someone.
There are a ton of people who are tired/sick/sunburned/want to go home for Father's Day that if you're willing to wear a sweaty wristband will desperately give it to you for $25 bucks.
