In a weird way, the Allman Brothers are one of the reasons I ended up on Inforoo at all.
The first friend I knew who was going to Bonnaroo went in 2005; I remember checking out the lineup and the ABB were one of the names that stood out to me the most. That sort of cemented Bonnaroo as something to keep an eye on. I finally made it to the farm in 2008, and I was very disappointed when the Allman Brothers had to cancel their appearance about six weeks out. The next summer, I ended up at one of my first Inforoo meetups when former board regulars lordrockinhood and fishinmaniac invited me to see the Allman Brothers and the Doobie Brothers in New Jersey. I'd been to a couple meetups, but that was the first time I spent all night hanging out with Inforoo people, and I had such a blast. They had each been to something like 15 or 20 ABB shows over as many years - I never realised how deep the concert fandom could run for bands that weren't Phish or the Dead. For me, however, that would be my only time seeing the full ABB (though I did see part of Gregg's solo set at Bonnaroo 2011, and also at Love for Levon) - but it was a great show, so I'm okay with that. I still regret never making it to a Beacon show, though.
Forgive me for the long-winded reminiscence. You should know by now that I was born a ramblin' man.
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is one of my all-time favourite comedies. Monie , this one's been on The List for a while... I think it's time to bump it up to the top.
Sad to hear about Adam West, too. Now let's all take a moment to appreciate this amazing gif I had as my avatar a couple years ago:
Those batmans spoiled me, and I could never get into the movies because they were too serious and mimicked the cartoon more than obviously the TV show did. All those superstar actors as great villains like Burgess Meredith as Penguin, Vincent Price as Egghead, Cesar Romero as The Joker, Frank Gorshin as The Riddler, Shelly Winters as Ma Parker, Zsa Zsa Gabor as Minerva, Liberace as Harry & also Chandell, Joan Collins as Siren. I loved those shows. I'm 99% sure Burt Ward (Robin) ended up founding World's Finest Chocolate and becoming a multi-millionaire off of it. RIP Adam.
It hasn't been released yet, but Dave Rosser, guitarist for the Afghan Whigs lost his battle with cancer last night. He's no longer in pain or having to fight. I'm glad to have gotten to call him my friend and will miss him.

I saw them twenty years or so ago opening for Neil Young and remember liking them. I'm so sorry for your loss.
Thank you, I have been trying to prepare myself because it was just a matter of time since he was diagnosed, but I just wasn't ready for him to go. He was literally one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life. Such a loss. I have been crying all day, just had lunch with his soulmate, one of my besties. This week has been awful.
Fresh Kid Ice passed away at 53. 2 Live Crew was the first rap act I really listened to. They made me laugh with their obnoxiousness, so I became a fan. Move Somethin' and Nasty as They Wanna Be are all time rap classics.
I have a pretty vivid memory of walking through a walmart when I was 10 and seeing the 'One Step Closer' video being on every tv in the electronics department and being blown away (might be one of the whiter sentences I've ever written). hybrid was definitely one of the first few cds I owned, and I definitely have a guilty pleasure feeling any time I hear anything off of it or 'Faint'.
Though I'm not big on them anymore, Linkin Park was the first band I loved. I was in their fan club and everything in middle school. Actually pretty bummed about this
We just watched them a few weeks ago at I think Rock Werchter. I'm not much of a fan, but it was interesting enough for me to watch the performance. RIP
Also, I was listening to Aphex Twin when I saw this, and it's really not even debatable, but LP got me into shit like that. I'm sure eventually I would've found electronic music, but LP is what did it.
