RIP John Sinclair. I had hamburgers with him one time back in college and he told me all these crazy stories about managing MC5 and promoting free Grateful Dead shows in the 60s. Really interesting dude.

Sinclair was arrested in 1969 and given 10 years for possession of two joints (at the time they assumed the trumped up charges were related to his political activism). They held a big benefit rally for him at Crisler Arena with John and Yoko, Stevie Wonder, Bob Seger, Bobby Seale, etc etc. video of the whole thing is out there and it’s a wild hippie time capsule.
That original SC TV cast is on par with the original [tm] Not Ready for Primetime Players - John Candy, Eugene Levy, Joe Flaherty, Catherine O'Hara, Martin Short, Rick Moranis, Dave Thomas, Harold Ramis, Andrea Martin - funny and talented mfers

Cancelled as hell but I remember Louis CK on O&A reading the murder part of "if I DID IT" saying "yeah, you can't write fiction this good. There's no way this is made up."

We didn’t have them on here locally back then but I remember they got in a bunch of trouble when two people called in fucking from a confessional at a cathedral in NYC during mass or something. Sorry O&A. Fucking in those confessionals is reserved for priests and altar children.

They also did a "prank" when they were in Boston where they announced that the mayor had died. That didn't go over great with his family and stuff. Anthony is a terrible person but I liked them way more than Stern because of how often they'd have NY comedians on for entire shows.
