i was going to respond to this in the Upcoming Shows thread with a joke about James Chance and the Contortions playing the Sphere, and when googling James Chance i noted he passed just six days ago.
every musical movement needs a little mini-movement that deconstructs or rips apart the musical movement in question. he was kind of like if james brown was in a punk band but also thought punk music was stupid. fucking right my guy. RIP.
I know this fact gets brought up once in a while but it’s crazy he was so well known for Gene Parmesan, a character who appeared in one episode in the original series run, that it’s often mentioned in the headlines of his obituaries! May we all be as well known for a bit of ours.
I just saw something about her a few days ago and was thinking about all that stuff surrounding her and Kubrick on The Shining set. How bad she fell off after that movie was always tragic. RIP.

i do want to shout out his performance in the criminally underwatched, even among comedy nerds, "A Futile and Stupid Gesture". he plays the "future" version of Douglas Kenney, founder of the National Lampoon.
will forte vehicle, and a stacked cast, including Joel McHale playing Chevy Chase which is hilarious on it's face.
