Potent I probably would have made that same exact vote day 5. Not a bad first game eh? I'm in for the next.
You played really well. The only advice i would give is that mafia lie. A lot. Strong convictions ans positi9ns are great, but you need to always be willing to back off and reconsider. Constantly reread the thread.
Other than that, well done.
Yeah, right. I wish I would have gone with my strong conviction, because the town would have won. This still irritates me. I allowed myself to be talked out of voting for Carini after re-reading the thread last night. At least the cigar was good.

I love you for it Potent.
The thing is, I was having a Friday morning last minute change of heart and was ready to switch my vote from ZIG to Carini. However I had to leave earlier to go into a meeting that was over laying off my members, and I wasn't focused on the game at that moment and forgot to switch. I sat there around 11am and remembered I wanted to switch but it was too late to do it via phone, especially since I was in the middle of the meeting and I was the youngest one in the room.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
This is exactly why you are terrible at this game. You looked at the most insignificant crap in a game and can't look at anything else. Based on this alone, it wouldn't have mattered when I revealed my role, you probably wouldn't have agreed with me. I could tell after my reveal that no matter what I said, you weren't going to believe me. During the game, I went back and looked at how many questions you were asking Viking about his reveal compared to how many questions you were asking me. You asked Viking maybe 5 or 6 direct questions. You asked me over 20. You clearly had no objective to look for the correct info. Your mind was made up about me.
Based on that alone? C'mon, man. You cost us a day and spilled Town blood. You voted along with your given name in Days 1-2. You were reluctant to vote Viking even as you were claiming he was Mafia. Did I ask Viking fewer questions? Yes. He had a shorter lifespan than you, and you know it. And did I really need to keep asking questions after I dropped a past Ref's all-caps quote about not going after an Inspector that survived a night?
And bringing up the "poster of utter nonsense" designation is a blatant distortion, considering that you left out the part where I had called for a session of Nonsense during a lull. You selectively left out the context there, and that context matters.
In Mafia 90, you believed Mafia had to play a specific way. Rothric and I used your Kdogg logic against you for a pretty easy win.
^ Again, on the "context matters" note, you're omitting the part where I was advocating against you near the end of that game. Exaggerating to make it seem like you'd pulled a fast one on me, when it was actually other Townies. Please.
Shitty Inspector? I had 2 of 3 Mafia going into Day 2, and the 3rd Mafia down to 2 candidates. I was mean to you because you were playing with a clear bias against me. It wouldn't have mattered what I told you, you weren't believing me. And look at my posts from Day 3 and 4, I wasn't mean to a single player. I answered every question respectfully. My name calling was directed at you, and to a small extent Danbob because he jumped onto your train of thinking
Oh, sure, pat yourself on the back as if those two of three weren't handed to you without having to lift a finger. The Ref gave you one name, and the fake reveal gave you another. You're boasting about hitting a home run when you started on third base there. And myself & Dan got whacked on consecutive nights because you got snippy with us and started name calling (and yes, the written record here will show that you called names before anyone else.) That's not a small extent.
More delusions and bullshit. You didn't have to twist my arm. I switched my vote to Viking right away when you brought it up during the game. You didn't do the same to Viking in the same situation. That's clear bias. And this wasn't what set you off on your "double fake reveal" theory. You're just trying to make new excuses for going down that rabbit hole. SFA planted the double fake info and you took it, not some ZiG not voting for Viking bullshit.
Context. You were railing against Viking, and I believe what finally shamed you into switching to your "known Mafia" was that I had to say... I believe the exact words were... "Dude. You. Are. Literally. Doing. The. Same. Thing." You two were acting alike, and you two were voting alike. Don't tell me it was clearly black and white when it looked gray as fuck to someone who didn't start the game with info. Again, that's gameplay of which you were in control.
And then in your defense, you attributed a JimmyThor quote as if it had happened on Day Two. LOF'nL. Nope nope nope.
And the "clearly you don't understand Mafia tactics" bit? You keep tabs on this stuff. Riddle me this: has there ever been a proactive fake claim like this on Day One? That's a first as far as I'm concerned. Probably a first as far as all here are concerned.
If you had made your counter-claim in Day One, when literally every alternative was alive, your claim would have had more legitimacy. Jaz did present as a credible possible Inspector assuming Viking was Mafia. Once there was a plausible alternative in the mix that died... yeah, your claim had some wind taken out of its sails. You posted a lot of selective quotes supporting the need to wait.
But then out the othe side of your mouth, you're acting all surprised that I didn't believe you because it was personal instead of something which would apply to any generic Other Inspector.
I have trouble understanding why any Other Inspector would still be sitting on it. Even before their Night Two guess, they would have all they need to convict two Mafia.
If I can out two Mafia in the Inspector role, I'm pleasantly pleased with my performance. I usually come running to the thread to share the news like a kid informing their parents "Santa came!" on Christmas morning.
Maybe it's just my personal playing style, but I feel the silence on this front is deafening.
I said that even before you revealed. I thought it was strategically better to come out with it instead of waiting. I'm not saying we'd have guaranteed victory had you come out when you should've... but we all know how doing things your way turned out.
Blame the inspector all you want. I gave the the town everything they needed. Town went along with me eventually Day 2 and 3 and we were 1 vote from winning twice...Town really blew it Day 4 and 5.
As Viking stated, I needed to cut through the smokescreen. I went hard on my reveal because I had a fake reveal, strong Mafia players, and a bunch of town that were unwilling to listen and had already made up their mind about Viking before even revealing.

Yep. We totally didn't need an opportunity to claim a Mafia head in Day One, another Night for Mafia to whack you and legitimize your claim and two names, likelihood of decreased confusion without having Jaz's death to consider, and another round to figure things out and give Carini an opportunity to give himself more rope in the end. Not to mention that the whack choices may have been different without scum offing the recipients of your insults/squabbling that otherwise might not have occurred.

But hey, go ahead and call yourself blameless.
I was only one of 8 players to vote Thor on Day 1 over Viking, and leaving a "revealed inspector" alive on Day 1 is pretty standard in gameplay, but I guess I was completely to blame, and the town had nothing to do with a Day 5 choke job...
Looking at the whacks from the past 3 nights leads me to believe that I am left living for a reason. KDogg and Rummy certainly didn't believe ZIG's reveal. I did. That means the mafia wants me to be making this decision, with ZIG being inspector in mind.
Of course, I out-think myself all the time. Circular logic is a bitch in this game. This seems like a case of the old switcheroo, or "what's good for the goose is good for the gander" if you will (bonus points if you get the reference).
In addition to me thinking that mafia wanted someone who believed ZIG to be making this decision, I am wary of Mike D.'s vote this round and referencing ZIG. It would have made a lot more sense to me had he reference NOT trusting Viking, since Viking called him mafia. All of this leads me to cast my vote for Mike D.
I would have believed zig if he would have come out after Viking. It seems like being the inspector is hard as fuck though and I don't think zig did a bad job. It was a crazy game that ended in essentially a coin flip. Good thing I didn't take zig up on that 20 game bet
Viking seemed so sincere when I was the swing vote and voted him off. I would say it was more amazing play from Viking than zig being a bad inspector.
I actually found this interesting to watch from the outside too. Viking went from the dick we know and love to this big cuddly "don't kill your inspector" teddy bear. I couldn't believe it worked.

1. Re: your "but I voted Viking!" defense...
Yeah, you voted JimmyThor. It was a 6-5 vote against Viking (with you siding with your given name) at the time he revealed. Three players switched votes to make it 8-3 against Thor. You were one of them. Without your reveal there, you basically let a Town (and a good player to boot) commit suicide while you knowingly watched a Mafia fake-out and let the perpetrator escape. While you had two names. You do understand why moves like this made your later claims seem suspect, right?
2. Re: "Town choked." OK... so, that final round consisted entirely of players you had made proclamations about. Arguable exception of Mike D, about whom you never asked. And come on, it can't just be me... Doesn't Mike D merely surviving to Day Five seem suspicious to others out there? He's good - so good, when the Mafia tried to set him up in their fake claim out of the entire roster.
But yeah, back to the other two. You obviously won them over. Your name-calling and our fighting probably factored into my whack, was commented on by Rummy, and look... Potent cited us both in his reasoning. This is part of why your tone was a detriment.

Potent > Mike D.
3. I'd also take issue with leaving Inspectors alive as standard. My experience is that Mafia are more likely to try and pull a hit job on them. Weren't you bragging earlier in this game about forcing an LD reveal - and didn't LD get whacked that night? It would seem to me even your most recent experience with a reveal was contrary to the assertion in this post.

Anyone can say anything they want, the fact of the matter to me is I blew this game. I knew ZIG was inspector - it said it in the post that KDogg quoted twice - but I didn't trust my instinct. Additionally, as I explained to Viking, I had a change of heart overnight and was ready to switch from ZIG to Carini on Day 4, which would have ended the game right there in a resounding town victory. I didn't, because again I didn't trust my instincts. This loss falls pretty darn close to 100% on my shoulders.
That wouldn't make me take a break in and of itself, but the fact that it corresponds with 11 of the next 14 nights in a bed other than my own makes it an easier decision.
But come on the rest of you, let's get Mafia 95 going so that it can finish and I can get back in for Mafia 96.
