Would love an unannounced lineup this year. That would be one of the funnest, most exciting music experiences I could imagine. I hope it happens some day.

*Updated* Some bingo card stats:
So far, 9 cards have sent to me (including mine). 242 different artists between the 9 cards. (432 possible spots, excluding the free space) 1 act has been guessed on all 9.
Glad to see a few more people hop on board with this. I'm still taking submissions!

So Petty came out with the tour dates today. Ends the day before Newport in Queens, NY. No way for Newport right? I know Benmont Tench was in town last year but they do have a Boston date. Just interested in everyone's thoughts on that.

Not out of the realm of possibility, but the Boston date makes me think odds are it won't happen. To be fair, though, Flight of Conchords and Beck both had Boston shows right around their Newport appearances

I think that's plausible. He goes from Boston to Baltimore to New York, so it's not like his travel schedule makes a ton of logistical sense anyway.

Bon Iver will be in Minneapolis the week before Newport. Good to see that he will be in the states! Hopes are higher!
Huge Bon Iver fan, would want nothing more than to have them (it's a them not a he) at Newport, but after seeing them this weekend it just would not work in the daylight. Sorry. I've seen two outdoor shows (one in daylight and one at night) and one indoor show. Their shows just do not work without lighting. Especially the 22 a million tracks.

I know it's "them" I also saw them this weekend.
With that being said, I would also take Justin in one of his other projects as well.
If you're so confident on the darkness being a need. I don't think it's a need.

What?
That wasn't written as clearly as it could have been. Lol
What I was trying to say is that I'm assuming by you mentioning lighting, you are saying that they would need a night show "darkness" for it to work.
Did I misunderstand? [/quote]
No that's right, just in my experience the darkness takes their show to a level that cannot be reached in the daylight.
That said, if there's ever a year for them to play, it's this year. I'm sure phil cook has talked to him about newport before, and it appeared he had a great time last year with the guitarheels so I can't imagine that the two of them have at least discussed.

Yeah, definitely. The Phil cook association has me feeling the same way. Saw them at The Cap, where did you see them?
Just saw Chadwick Stokes this past weekend at the Paradise. It's probably my 10th time catching him and I'm still shocked he hasn't voyaged to the Fort yet. 2017, anyone, maybe even with Dispatch considering they recorded their upcoming album this past summer?

Those Boston shows are always a blast, this is the first one I've missed in a while, but I caught him in NY a couple days before. I wanted to ask him if he/Dispatch would be doing any festivals this summer but didn't see him around after the show. Dispatch have said they'll be touring the US in the summer, so it's definitely an option
