So as this is my first time going, it looks like the festival days end pretty early around 7:30. Are there usually night shows around town or any special events after the day is over?
Taking it down definitely makes it seem even more likely that they're there. I have a screenshot if anyone demands proof.
Also I doubt Jay Sweet would care. The whole point of the rolling lineup is to be beneficial to the artists, and the festival's basically sold out, so I doubt Jay's too concerned with an artist hinting that they'll be there. Robin probably just doesn't want to announce shows before he's supposed to.

Always the Deer Tick Shows and at least one or two other options every night after the festie is finished

3-4 shows around town each night. The town gets very crowded... like Times Square. The Deer Tick aftershows at Newport Blues Café are packed. I can only speak for those shows which are fantastic. I haven't been to any of the other shows. The Deer Tick shows sell out in a minute when they go on sale... I believe in May. Even just going out to a bar or restaurant at night you could see performers if you find that cool. I spoke with Alex Ebert outside of a bar last year to congratulate him on his stellar performance earlier in the day. My girlfriend got her picture taken with Jess and Holly from Lucius on the street two years back. It's still very festive at night.

My current campaign is to get Newport to book Michael Stipe. He's said he wants to return to music and he's good friends with Patti Smith, so it feels like it'd be a great choice. Would he headline? I'd think maybe 2nd or 3rd billed on his day

I didnt play around with mine. Just input names. So I hate the way the actual card turned out. I have someone improbable in every corner but it wasnt worth redoing.

Here are the cards! Thanks to those who submitted! I'll keep track as artists are announced, then post them all again just before the festival. Just a reminder that this is for artists announced BEFORE the festival. So say if Lucius join people for a set or do a surprise set, but are NOT listed on the website, they wont count/get stamped.
