I had forgotten that Dan Auerbach did a lot of co-writing with Prine on his upcoming solo album. Feels like there's an even better shot he'll be there now
Is this the anticipated Sunday headliner? (I guess especially if Bon Iver shows up)
Bon Iver's not showing up. The Eaux Claires set is basically a tribute to John Prine that will feature John Prine. This is a John Prine set. Let's put this to bed.
But I think Prine could go either way, though I'd lean towards headliner with another big name right underneath him, like Flight of the Conchords and Ray last year.
Hear me out, Dave and Tim before John Prine on Sunday would be amazing and hearing them join him for Angel From Montgomery would be ecstasy.

If they got Dave, he's in all likelihood headlining

Is John a headliner? I really hope he is, but they still cooould have someone above him. Although since he's having guests join him, that's sounding like a perfect Sunday closer. Assuming FF are Friday's headliner and JP is Sunday, they could have some money left for a bigger Saturday headliner *cough*Paul Simon*cough*
Just got back from Dawes. Probably the best time I've seen them, even though I'm still not a huge fan of the new album.
However, I asked their keyboardist if they'd be at Newport and he said not until next year. So I guess count Dawes out once again!
I refuse to believe this.
He seemed pretty confident. He said it's because they've technically been there the last three years in a row, even if the last actual Dawes set was in 2014. A little ridiculous given that this is now two album cycles in a row that haven't featured Newport.
The way he talked about next year seemed like they might have something big in the works but maybe I was just reading into it after the disappointing news
I'm almost certain that Dawes tomorrow is going to be canceled for the storm
I know... Until this morning, I was holding a small hope that it coooould be clear enough by the evening, but now I am just hoping it's fully cancelled, so I can get money back.
Last night's show in Hartford was soooo good, and I was really looking forward to those front row seats I have for tomorrow night
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Hoping for something special with the boys since I'll be seeing MMJ 3 times before Newport...but who am I kidding, I'll be there no matter what they're doing. They could cover their favorite Sesame Street tunes for all I care

Or do a staring contest?
But really, open dates and no Boston date. Come to us, boys.
