I actively avoid clicking on their links and waiting until a different site posts the same story. Same goes for Pitchfork a lot of the time, although they reel me in more often.
I doubt it since he hadn't played outside of st louis but i felt like my heart was stomped on when i read it
If they come with some explanation at 10, saying that we're going to...it'll be stomped all over again.
"You Never Can Tell" was also recorded by John Prine so maybe they're just making the connection. Or, it was a hit for Emmylou as well, so like, maybe...? Please tell me this clue means it's Friday today...

I had posted Emmylou up here when they tweeted that , but then deleted it because it was not really 100 percent.
Deer Tick's cover of Maybellene in 2012 with Matt Vasquez was when I fell in love with the tune and opened my eyes to his music. I'd love to see them pull that cover out again this year.
THIS IS COOL. Also, surprised how low down it is on the lineup.
My guess is that it would be featured on the museum stage with special guests (Deer Tick, Rateliff, Morello, Prine). Hopefully For Pete's Sake will still happen as well. Then again, with The Decemberists curating their very own festival, Funk may not have had the time to work on For Pete's Sake this year.
Upcoming Shows: August 7: Green Day/Smashing Pumpkins/Rancid/The Linda Lindas August 30: Waxahatchee/Snail Mail/Tim Heidecker September 17: Pearl Jam/Glen Hansard September 24: Idles/English Teacher
I'm gutted. Sounds like he'd have been there. Happy to celebrate his memory. Newport could get to likes of Keith Richards to come to that. Most of 60s rock legends loved him and would love to celebrate his legacy.

Nooo way this would be in the Museum. They wouldn't limit a tribute for a giant to 200 people. Also, the tend to announce the museums stuff toward the end and it's always at the bottom of the lineup. Margret Glaspy is one below the tribute, and she wouldn't be a museums act.

Oh okay! I didn't look at the lineup. When you said you were surprised it was so low I just assumed it was at the bottom. Well that's good because I can never seem to get into the museum because of the lines and I for sure don't want to miss that tribute.

It's a cool way to see some artists in a really intimate (read: hot) setting, but I've been burned before waiting for surprises and missed things I really wanted to see.
Let's not get too carried away about who will guest lol. This is what happened with the Dylan tribute. It's likely why they also put it lower in the lineup...so people don't start guessing Bono and Townshend again.

It's likely they put it lower on the lineup because it won't be a "headlining" set, not just to keep our expectations down.

Yeah but where they have it right now , has it primed to be like a 3:00ish set.

I do agree that that's peculiar, but I really don't see them putting it low on the lineup only to keep expectations down. But like, that's just my opinion, man...
Just read that this was originally planned as a 90th birthday party to celebrate the music of Chuck but since has changed to a tribute since his passing. Thinking it'll be a smaller scale "65 Revisited" with a bunch of NFF regulars.
