Damn you're right, I had forgot to put Mt. Joy on the list I'm keeping.
We're down to the last 9 everybody! Plus the Museum sets and such
Always the most exciting batch of announcements! Im thinking we have left: Bob Weir & The Campfire Band (Sat. Pre-Headliner), Lucy Dacus, Charles Bradley & His Extradordinaires, Margo Price, Gary Clark Jr., Conor Oberst, Amanda Shires (Solo Set), Dan Auerbach, and Deer Tick.

I doubt Margo Price would be show up back to back year, especially since she wasn't a Sunday monring act or anything of the likes.

She has already said in posts that she will be there. I just think she will be there as a guest, and not on the lineup.

I wouldn't be surprised. She's been working on her next album, and it's definitely possible it will be released by late July, so maybe they'll want to give her the bump to the Fort.

Darlingside, River Whyless, Ballroom Thieves, Langhorne Slim playing Calgary Folk the same weekend. Some possible crossover. Personally, I think Darlingside needs to play NFF this year!
Since we're speculating. I just read an article about Roger Waters 2015 NFF set. It talked about what a big John Prine fan he is and how he played Prine’s “Hello, In There" that day. I'd love to hear Roger Waters new album with Lucius and some John Prine collaboration would be awesome. Man I shouldn't do this to myself. I'm probably off target and setting myself up for disappointment. Who my kidding. It'll be feakin awesome no matter what. It always is.

Roger's in the midwest around/during Newport weekend, so I'd call that a no-go. I had the same thought a couple days ago though.

Darn. Well they've already added headliner level artists each day. Actually a bunch on Friday. From here on in we're in bonus territory.

If you look at last year's last five announcements they were all pretty heavy hitters:
May 26th – Patti Smith – Saturday, July 23rd
May 25th – Alabama Shakes – Sunday, July 24th
May 24th – Elvis Costello – Sunday, July 24th
May 23rd – Ryan Adams with The Infamous Stringdusters featuring Nicki Bluhm – Saturday, July 23rd
May 19th – Graham Nash – Saturday, July 23rd
To that point, I would think that at least a couple of Bob Weir, Wilco/Tweedy, Some combination of Nash & Friends, Cat Stevens, Monsters of Folk, Dave & Tim or even the Kinks (Beaker) are all still in play.

I can get behind those. Lol
Getting all of those acts would be absolutely ridiculous!

I'm still thinking Conor Oberst, Ballroom Thieves, maybe Monster of Folk... but that could be a surprise set, Tom Petty, Graham Nash in some form, Dispatch, Deer Tick. I would be very happy with these announcements.
Upcoming Shows: August 7: Green Day/Smashing Pumpkins/Rancid/The Linda Lindas August 30: Waxahatchee/Snail Mail/Tim Heidecker September 17: Pearl Jam/Glen Hansard September 24: Idles/English Teacher
While we're at it, how about a Simon & Garfunkel reunion, Fleetwood Mac, the Dead (w/Phil Lesh of course), and Kendrick Lamar. I think there's a decent chance of all of those getting added to Sunday

Dylan accepts the Nobel on Saturday, Jerry Garcia reunites with the dead from the dead and Beyonce performs Lemonade acoustic with her newborn twins.
Four years and I'm still such a Newbie compared to you folks. Could anyone chime in on the following?
1) Only have tix for Friday and still about 110 on the waiting list for Saturday. I like the Friday lineup just fine, but the headliners fail me a bit. (Wish I could make Sunday!) Anyone have a clue whether 110 has a shot of getting tix? Stub hub is a fortune.
2) When are the after shows (or pre show) announced? How does one know, and are tickets gone in a matter of minutes?
3) After the sun and heat last year, considering one of those popup open tents things...but read here that they may be banned this year. Any word on that?

They're not going for an all out ban as the fest info states, "Tents, umbrellas and shade structures over 30” are prohibited in lawn seating areas." The fest provides a few shade structures but not nearly enough. They were a lot more directive on where you could put them last year and I think this year they may reserve an area back against the fence for people who want to put them up. At least that's my gut. Our crew will need to get there early enough to reserve a decent spot and we welcome any Roosters to come share Quack Club shade structures. We're pretty easy to spot.
Kind of random question, but when do we think Jason Isbell graduates to NFF headliner? My guess would be on the album after the one he's got coming out.
To me he's probably the most likely contender for an artist moving up the ranks to get there, especially if he lands anything remotely resembling a radio hit a la "I and Love and You"

Sort of feel like by the time most bands become headliners it's to late but i also hate crowds so i constantly drift towards the irrelevant... also i'm going to be in ireland while the final acts are announced and will barely have internet access i'm going to freak out

I'm going to use your mention of Ireland to share a singer some folk here might not know but probably should. Luke Kelly was probably the greatest folk singer who ever lived. I used to have this misplaced notion that Irish folk music owed nothing to Newport until I read an article about how Luke Kelly got into folk music. While working in England he happened upon a club where folk singers performed. Turned out the club was a place where Pete and Peggy Seeger helped promote the folk revival in England. Luke befriended Pete and Peggy. When Luke returned to Ireland he helped form Ireland's greatest ever folk band The Dubliners. Their songs are played to this day in Irish bars all over the world. Years later Pete helped Luke launch his solo career by having him play at Newport.

The Dubliners radio is my most listened to station on Pandora.
