On separate note... been listening to all the artists announced and really like Matt the Electrician. For a bottom of the lineup guy, I am really excited to see him. Wish Friday wasn't going to be such a challenge.
Have to completely concur with this, have a spotify playlist of all newport 2017 acts on heavy rotation, but most days often end up listening to big chunks of Matt the Electrician

Sidenote, as mentioned earlier visiting my first Newport from Australia, with wife and daughter, accomodation booked, car from boston booked, most of our July in US is now sorted.
Originally I got a 3 days pass and the girls had 2 day passes, just got a friday ticket for better half via lyte (after Regina got announced), but the position in the queue for kids ticket doesn't seem to move at all, what are the chances?

Whoa, coming from Australia to Newport is impressive. I live an hour away, and it's amazing to see something in this little state draw people from the other side of the world.
Worst case scenario, you may need to go to a place like Stubhub and buy a Friday ticket above face.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

thanks LD, yeah something I've wanted to do for ages and the time was right
have been keeping an eye on stubhub....as a back-up
Ballroom Thieves and Ryan Montbleau? Now I'm really peeved. I'll have to split in two on Friday. Couldn't imagine the Ballroom Thieves not being here. You can't beat a "lead electric cello." But in that tiny space? And oy...its's 3:41AM in NY...the life of a teacher.
This was announced Friday. But Boston Calling had me busy all day.
Met some ppl from here as well! That was awesome!
I honestly don't like to be negative but Boston Calling really really sucked on Friday. I don't know where to start. In fairness the cold wet awful weather wasn't their fault but the huge delays getting in were. I appreciate the extra security but what they did made everyone way more unsafe. There was a gigantic crowd backed way out of the place that made for a major safety risk. Sure they made it safe inside but they made everyone wait for over an hour in a huge vulnerable target to get in. Even the app schedule didn't remotely match when bands were actually on. Bon Iver wasn't on the main stage which lead to crowd problems that bordered on being unsafe. I never saw so many rude people in one crowd. Maybe they were pissed at being so crushed but I suspect a lot of them were drunk kids celebrating graduating college in Boston. It was awful. I saw security drag so many muddy drunks out. I left feeling so much more grateful for how awesome Newport is. Newport is heaven to Boston Callings hell. Having said all that Mac Demarco and Sylvan Esso were great.
