NFF on twitter is calling it a error. But is it? Haha
That would be wacky. Seems like whoever runs their social media is working very fast to thwart the rumor, or at least confirm they know nothing about it. Who knows though, I wouldn't put it past either party!
Long time lurker, first time poster. Does anyone have any advice for a newport noob on how to score tickets to the Deer Tick and Alone & Together(but mostly deer tick) after parties? Willing to do regrettable things...
Thank you kind people!
I think my group has some extra tickets. At least on Sunday. We have 35 on Sunday. And yes, we take this shit seriously. Been to 18 of the 19 tick after parties.
This would be tremendous. I'd gladly take 2 to any night you have tix to spare. I sent you a message, but I don't know my way around this board so well, so I'm dropping you a line here as well. Please be my savior!
I really like the addition of the Lyte program this year. I signed up for one extra Friday ticket for my niece on March 28th. I started at position 110 in the queue. As of today I am number 37. I might not get lucky enough to secure a ticket but I'm happy they have this program in place to get tickets in hands for their actual value.
Amazing. One week later and I got the ticket. Lyte is great!
Upcoming Shows: August 7: Green Day/Smashing Pumpkins/Rancid/The Linda Lindas August 30: Waxahatchee/Snail Mail/Tim Heidecker September 17: Pearl Jam/Glen Hansard September 24: Idles/English Teacher
I'm doing my best to return to the Fort this year, but it all kinda hinges on getting approved for press/photo. It doesn't even look like they looked at my application yet. Anyone know who I should contact to find out?
Bummer about Weir, but oh well. Hopefully some of his more Newport-familiar friends will eventually talk some sense into him.

Did the collective you get the scoop on Grandma's Hands Band ? who/what?
It's going to be Hiss Golden Messenger performing a Bill Withers tribute set. Lots of surprise guests expected. Justin Vernon said on Twitter he would be there. Phil Cook will most likely be there, too.
Any cool restaurant/bar recommendations for evening/late night?
I go to The Red Parrot the first night I get to Newport every year. There are better places but it's tradition. The presentation is awesome especially for drinks. The food is good enough. If you can get a first floor window seat I think it's the best dining location in the town. A couple years back I went to the Brick Alley Pub which was probably the best food I've eaten in Newport. Last year I went to The SpeakEasy and saw Aaron Livingston (Son Little) at the bar with his band. The atmosphere was a little more swanky and less touristy and the gin and tonic I had was the strongest drink I've ever had at a restaurant by far.
