Hi folks,
My name is Matt. I figured I would finally join the board here. I have been lurking the past few years.
I'm going on 8 years now at Newport and have seen some amazing things between the festival and after shows. I started going by myself and now go with 10-20 people a year. This year there is about 15 of us. It is my favorite weekend every year.
Can't wait to get up early to go sit in the holding pen.
You never forget your first. Sam Bush>Yim Yames on the Harbor Stage. Sitting 2 feet from a musical hero stays with you. That and the Chris Funk/Jim James staring contest in the museum which is on my Capitol One card. Can I have an unannounced DM please?

Texas gentlemen show on Saturday night giving me fomo. Curse me for rather doing them and SFR than Tick two nights in a row..guess I'll cry in my beer!
Looks like Saturday's rain is trending a little southward. The bulk of it may stay off to the south and east, but I'd still expect rain and would be prepared for it.
Cause of Mr. James, anything above 1% chance really means 100%

I'm not sure if I can definitely transfer will call tickets to someone else for Deer Tick late night but I have two tickets for tomorrow (Saturday) late night Deer Tick available if I can get them to transfer. LMK if anyone interested and I can try to find out how to switch to a different name.
hey! another forum newbie, long time folk festival goer here. I'd love if someone could send me the unannounced!
as for favorite nff memory... jeez. there's a lot. I guess off the top of my head- middle brother last year, tallest man on earth in the rain a few years ago, conor oberst with the huge crowd reflected in his sunglasses (also a few years back), ryan adams acoustic set, watching andrew bird while the couple sitting next to me drafted a love letter to him...
also, tomorrows gonna be my first deer tick after party. I've wanted to go for years and I am sooooo excited!
