maybe a scoop from a friend that works in the state department... potentially Obama is going to come out during Chance's set... not sure how accurate this is
Gramatik generally over the heads of the molly munching millennials except the groovers. It's easily the best show I've seen on channel 3 this weekend. Expected.
It's cool he had Vic Mensa at least though. They had some sort of beef for the last couple years right? Plus Cocoa Butter Kisses is way better when they perform Vic's part.
Did anyone else find the crowd yesterday to be insufferable? After witnessing teens passing out and puking everywhere at 3pm, we had to completely change our schedule to avoid the younger crowd for the rest of the day.
I saw people on Reddit saying this this year had the worst crowd yet, but I'm skeptical after seeing Reddit complain about Coachella this year and personally having no issues with the crowd.
Buuuut...it wouldn't surprise me. After being surrounded by a near comatose group of folks during McCartney in 2015, I can see why the Lolla crowd sucks.
That sucks to hear. I've been wanting to do the grand slam for awhile, but I'm losing interest in going to Lollapalooza again.
Honestly, Friday had one of the best festival crowds I've seen. You could tell the crowd was older and more experienced. Yesterday's lineup just skewed a lot younger. I'm hoping Arcade Fire and Justice will bring out an older crowd again today.

What did you end up seeing in order to accomplish this?
The annual subreddit posts about "most ridiculous thing you saw on day XXX" are hilarious.

We ended up doing Vance Joy > Live > Head and the Heart > The Xx
We were planning on seeing Royal Blood and Alt J, but this run worked out fairly nicely.

Dilemma: I want a bomb spot for Arcade Fire, but also would really like to catch some of Sampha. If I'm getting back to the main stage before The Shins end, will I be able to still be able to get a spot in front of the soundboard for Arcade Fire?

I have a feeling most of the crowd will be at Rae Sremmurd and Perry's.
Yesterday the crowd was pretty bad. I left Alt-J because it was so miserable. People lining up for chance were pushing and shoving trying to get a spot early. It was so loud with everyone talking who didn't care about them we couldn't even hear the music. Walking out of the crowd the show was way more enjoyable from afar. I'm was a pretty similar experience for Vance Joy.
Thursday and Friday I had no issues until the killers. A lot of people shoving their way trying to pull people off the rail. I've never had people so aggressively trying to take people's spot. A dude actually tried to punch the girl in front of my group for the rail. All the guys around immediately tackled him, security had to chase the guy down to kick him out.
I think the mild weather has just made the crowd more drunk than usual. I've seen a lot of kids who are completely trashed early in the day. Yesterday entering the festival around 1 a group of girls were wasted drinking outside the gates and the cops gave them tickets. The girls were just about losing their minds, they couldn't understand why they were issued tickets. It was pretty amusing to watch.
Looks like Rolling Stone had a pretty cool private party yesterday ft RtJ, Taylor Bennett, Bishop Briggs, and a Mark Foster DJ set. Apparently Chance showed up. Then Mr. The Rapper and Gucci Mane had their own private shows at the same venue after his headlining set. Watched some videos of it, he sounded and looked pretty wasted, which was hilarious to see him that way.
^Reminds me of Hangout 16 when some enormous bro said he was going to smash a girl in the face before Florence and the Machine...of all fucking acts. His boy did nothing about cept get into my and ne215s face. Luckily they left.
