I feel like this would be a ton of fun if you've never been to a music festival.
It'd be a ton of fun if you lived close by, got together a group of friends and went. Music festivals are fun. This one only costs $150 and that price tag is reflected in the lineup.
I envy people who live nearby and get to see all those acts for such a cheap price tag.
A few of us say it every year, but this fest is easily accessible around downtown. Street parking is usually solid. Bike paths are all over the place (all over downtown). Solid bars near the fest. Solid late nights. Big 4 pedestrian bridge if you want to walk/bike over from Indiana side.
I'm holding out hope for LCD in Chicago that weekend. It would be an excellent b-day weekend for sure. But yeah, I'll be in Louisville for 1 day.
I think the daily passes are around $70, but I can't remember right now.
In terms of lineup? Nah. There's more filler than usual on SK's lineup, but the headliners are better and the undercard is still deeper than Forecastle's.

The undercard on Shaky Knees is pretty bad. Not counting headliners I count maybe 10 acts I want to see and several are repeats. I'm at about 14 on Forecastle, and Forecastle has over a dozen more names to add, and hasn't even been comparable in quality the past two years.
At best they're neck and neck, and Forecastle has 20% of the line-up to go.

To each their own, but as far as acts I'd be interested in seeing, my breakdown is 14 for SK and less than 10 for Forecastle. To be fair, I'm not particularly familiar with much of Forecastle's undercard.
I wouldn't go that far. It's hard to argue that Forecastle has a better set of headliners compared to SK, and the undercard for SK fits my taste better than Forecastles (but it is close).
Over a dozen artist additions announced Tuesday 1/31 at 10am.
Dropping "Captain's Clues" all week on Facebook.
First clue is Phantogram btw. Literally a still from their music video. Don't know where people are throwing all these other wild guessed from
You'd be surprised. Roo clues are like that where something makes absolute perfect sense, but some just won't give up an alternate viewpoint of someone who is highly unlikely or only vaguely relates to the clue.

I think the live show kind of fits along with how they sound not really a bad thing imo. They would be a great band for the WFPK stage over by the trees to kind of lay in the shade and relax late afternoon before which are sure to be pretty high energy shows from most of the top of the lineup.

Agreed. They would be an ideal act to take a break in the grass if you planned on seeing them. Nothing to be gained from getting up front or standing in the sun.

Spoon is the clue today. These are sizable adds for Forecastle... If they continue to drop clues over the weekend I am guessing we end up with 7 clues that lead to sizable additions and then 5 lesser known or local bands to round out the 12.
