Unless something drastically changed, I would be shocked if that is how it played out.
That needs 100% more Allman Brothers-related acts...
They will be evolving away from that a bit. I know Gregg's health was a big question. There will certainly still be that element but it may not be the focal point anymore.

That's good - at this point in his life I don't think any fest should book Gregg Allman in a position where it would influence people to buy tickets. I'd just like it if they booked him, kept it on the DL, and they told us about it a week before-hand...then if he gets sick we didn't expect him anyway. I've been so bummed at being excited to see Gregg and then his health taking a turn.

We'll see. Also look for Lettuce w/ Chaka Khan and Umphrey's late night.
Was this all coming out of One Big Holiday or do you have sources? I know you have some legit info. Just had heard differently about the top but that was over a month ago.

Yeah, unfortunately at this stage in his life, he is cancelling more shows that he is performing. I love Gregg and it is still a good show no matter what band he is with but he is just too unreliable to book at this point. I can't share anything that I have heard but Stillwater has some good info. Really hoping the headliners didn't fall like that though. As I said they were fluid still last I heard but the options from late late year, to early this year to this would be a bit of a letdown for me personally. One night of WSP is cool but two nights is a bit much when they are headlining almost everything in the genre this year and I will be seeing four sets at 420 Fest and probably a few other sets before Peach. I love MMJ but have seen them about 5 times in the past year and a half. They would still be cool though if I could get up close enough.
Although headliners are a small portion in the overall experience. Peach is always great and always other options for good music at the other stages.

Not OBH-related- just happened to have heard while I was there. JRAD Thursday.

Agreed about WSP - I'd be surprised if they went this route considering they're playing Lockn' and those two fests are always competing to one-up each other because of how close they are and how similar their audience is...I'd expect something different for headliner like Bobby and the Campfire Boys or whatever they're calling themselves these days.
In "These are great bands but not at Lockn' yet" choices, I'd love to see Tedeschi Trucks, Ben Harper, Ween, the Biscuits, Magpie Salute (pretty sure CRB will be at Lockn', per usual), STS9, Lotus, Twiddle, The Werks, Robert Randolph, is Particle still playing? And I want to check out Spafford, CBDB, and Ripe, too - Just give me most of that SCamp 2017 lineup and have it not be a 12 hour drive and i'll be happy!
I am selling my Fenway D&C tickets and doing Burgettstown/SPAC/Blossom instead which frees up the 17th. Hopefully Saturday works out nice so I can get a day pass and take the kids.

Love The Head and the Heart - but I'm not really that impressed. For the hold out I was expecting more.
I agree. Overall, I like the lineup, but was hoping for more.
I'm trying to get my friends on board with Peach...hopefully Peach delivers this year. I like the rumors I've heard so far.
I've never done Peach before. It was on my radar as a maybe last year and I just didn't get to it. Perhaps this year. I haven't really been tuned into any of the rumors.

Peach will be more in line with my tastes with much more "jam". I am biased as I am a huge Peach fan. I still may check out a day of this as I will miss the local Petty show due to moe.down but there isn't enough here for me to make a weekend out of it.
Edit: I guess it is about time I made the Peach 2017 thread.
String Cheese does nothing for me. Also, no Mule is just really weird.
Guessing Warren just plays in a bunch of sets and has a ton of guest spots. Def weird that they aren't listed. Maybe a surprise show?
Somebody on the facebook announcement asked about Mule and this was the official Mountain Jam response in the comment:
"The many performances of Warren and Gov’t Mule have been a really important part of the history of Mountain Jam, and they’re our friends. It’s a bummer and we all tried, but it didn’t work out for this year. Yet, we’re excited for their new record to hit, and you can check out mule.net for their tour details."

Weird....I thought this was basically Warren's festival.
Ditto
They must have really went heavy with the top part of the lineup, cause most of the lineup additions either do nothing for me, or I know nothing about them.

I think the undercard for this is really good, as far as bands that I know. They went very classic rock-y at the top which is fine. I'm not too excited about SCI but it is what it is. With the proximity of this, the wife and I will definitely be attending, but looking to Peach and Lockn' for our "jammier" festies.
Mountain Jam is still in play for me, but not wowed. Still waiting on Solid Sound and Peach is now in play. I've never really considered Peach before last weekend. I could do a June and do Peach if I played my cards right. Maybe.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

so it seems that car camping is sold out already (which didn't happen until later last year) and i totally dropped the ball on this. I tend to bring a ton of crap with me when I camp - so I guess i'm looking into near car. Has anyone done this before? How has it been for you? (not really looking to haul all my gear all the way up the normal camping areas)
Also - anybody every stay in the condos nearby? thoughts, price?

I would say wait on car camping or mountaintop and buy it from a secondary source. I did this last year with mountaintop and found it for about half the price a week or so beforehand. It just takes the stones to keep waiting it out and then jumping on it when they come on. Craigslist and cashortrade are your friend.
As an aside, there have been some really nice (for my taste) stealth adds since the "final lineup" was released. They've added Marco Benevento, Hamish Anderson, and Chuck Prophet, all of which have pretty good rotation on my itunes. I'm surprised they haven't even announced any of these, tho I'm sure they move the needle a very small amount.

Ok, I thought I was going crazy. Noticed Marco and Chuck Prophet the other day and thought I had just missed them for the last month.

I guess i'll have to keep my eyes peeled for some secondary camping passes as people maybe realize they can't go anymore! I just worry that if i don't pull the trigger on near car I'll be totally out of luck. Oh well - thats something I have to gamble with I guess! (and if anyone on here with a camping pass finds they can no longer attend down the line --- just know I've got my hands raised and I'd be willing to take it off your hands
And thats awesome - I didn't even realize they had added more folks. Marco is pretty awesome!

I think near car is pretty much always available - I know last year when I was looking near car was always an option. You will always have a chance to get at least the car camping pass - i remember a ton of them coming up last year on cashortrade and with Cheese playing this year it's not like jammers won't be using CoT to offload their extras or if they can't go.
I was offered a free ticket and had to pass. Too many fest trips this year.
Then, some guy on Craigslist up the road from me is selling tickets for $100. Someone is trying to get me to go to this thing.
We may be there for Saturday and part of Sunday at least. I don't have any more time off work to do the whole thing. Still up in the air if the GF will do this for Father's Day.
