Green Day! Keep hoping since they didn't announce a NYC-area date on their late summer tour which wraps mid-Sep. Also, Depeche Mode is out via the tour dates they announced today (2 @ MSG in Sep)
Would they really invite The Weeknd back after last year?
I don't think they would and I really hope they have more respect for themselves than that.
It was smart to not rip him apart in the media and trash him, classy move to say "things happen", but that doesn't mean you have to invite him back.
It's not like Kanye, who got rained out and had a legit family emergency last year, The Weeknd cancelled because something better popped up, and that's messed up.

just dont let the main stage be something like Logic-->Future-->Gambino. That crowd was a really dangerous shit show last year when it was Tiller>Chance>Ye

Per a post-Meadows AMA on Reddit, Founders conceded that the crowd situation was a massive clusterfuck and that they would address it in subsequent editions with barriers and the likes.
If you're the Gorillaz...would you rather do 2 nights at Barclays or MSG with a sold out crowd...or play in the Citi Field Parking lot. Tough Call.
you could say this about every band.
I suppose. But let's not pretend this is Glastonbury, or even Lolla or ACL. It's a second year festival that to this point hasn't shown any interest in rock music.
If Founders dumps a ton of money in their lap sure, but nothing indicates that this is what they're going for.

To be fair, Gorillaz has as much hip hop in their songs as they do rock music.

Pretty much all acts just care about the paycheck and not the location of a show. Truthfully most acts would rather play a club show, arena, ect than play any festival; but they go where the money is. Don't forget this is how they make a living.

I don't think they're playing. I just think that reasoning is dumb.

Hence why you see artists like Frank Ocean and Solange, whose music is really much better suited to a headlining theater show, only playing festivals (as of right now). Or LCD, who would have gotten much better crowds if they'd just played their own shows
