Inforoo is its own bubble. Facebook, reddit, ect are nothing but positive reactions; and I have zero doubt in my mind that tix are going to move like crazy and sell out in no time. To the average person this is way more stacked than Gov Ball or Panorama. I am literally getting texts from ppl who are calling this the best lineup they have seen all year. I dont really agree with that, but its going to be fun as hell, and I am stoked.
I'm not surprised. With hip-hop as big a genre as it is, and the unique rappers they managed to book, a lot oh whom are NYC royalty, plus the star power of RHCP, the coolness of Gorillaz, and the fact that its quality never really drops off, it's bound to appeal to a lot of people.
The name that keeps bothering me is Milky Chance. Why is any festival booking them? What draw do they have? They should be a band buried in the bottom half at best.
Milky Chance sold out Central Park Summerstage in the summer of 2015. I think the demand has fallen a bit but they still play 2-3k size venues around the country.
Also, from the an alt/indie perspective, this lineup definitely has some great names but is stretched a little thin for 3 days. Worried that there will only be 3-4 acts I like each day BUT I need to fully go through the bottom 3 lines since those aren't familiar. Cool to see Circa Waves on this after they had to cancel Gov Ball last year.

I can understand how people may be disappointed if they were expecting Bon Iver or Arcade Fire... But both of those acts would have obviously been billed very high, and would have stood out like sore thumbs on that lineup.
30 artists I'd be interested in seeing, ones I'd be excited for in bold:
Who am I missing?
Jay Z RHCP Gorillaz Nas Weezer Run the Jewels LL Cool J M.I.A. Erykah Badu Action Bronson TV On the Radio Two Door Cinema Club Blood Orange Broken Social Scene De La Soul Joey Bada$$ Tegan and Sara St. Paul & the Broken Bones Ghostface Killah Flatbush Zombies Sleigh Bells Big Boi Sky Ferreira BBNG Antibalas Lizzo Wild Belle Kamaiyah Fantastic Negrito Public Access T.V.
Future might be fun to pop your head in to just witness the complete shit show, Swet Shop Boys are cool (if you watched that HBO show The Night Of, its that dude Naz), I dig Big Wild too.
I forgot I liked swt shop boys. I think this is really going to come down to day tickets for me
Also, what are BBNG like live? I can't see people going to watch jazz, and I know they have hip hop collabs which actually should be right up my alley if it's anything like 90s stuff
As far as rhcp goes, I never liked anything after blood sugar sex magic, as that was my album senior year of us... And I feel like that's most if what they'd play

Jay-Z ~ RHCP Arcade Fire ~ Gorillaz
Looks good to me! But whatever can't win them all. Arcade will not only multiple nights at Barclays or MSG on their upcoming tour, but they might also do some crazy BK Steel/Knitting Factory/Rough Trade shows for the album release. And Bon Iver did 10 nights last Winter (and you will never get a cooler venue to see him in than Pioneer Works).
Point being...I love them both to death but if you're a New Yorker you can't whine about not having a chance to see those acts cause they didn't pop up on The Meadows lineup.

Yeah, I'll definitely check that out. I'm going to miss that little stage this year

Much like Frightened Rabbit and Yeasayer last year. I assume this means we'll be getting some sort of Bon Iver arena show in the fall.

Since he did 10 shows in NYC last year, I don't think he's gonna have another show this year.

Eh, those were all underplays of some sort so I imagine he'll come around one more time so everyone can get in. I think Forrest Hills or Keyspan Park (whatever it's branded these days) would be cool "alternative" big venues for him.

A two-night stand at Forest Hills would be awesome, but I have a feeling he'll be shooting for Barclays next time around
What is everyone's opinion on if this will get to day by day tickets? I kind of decided to not buy Gorillaz tickets in Philly because I thought I would get to see them here with a bunch of really good undercard acts (which founders has always gotten). Don't really want to do 3 day but they really packed some heavy hitters so I think this might sell out before day by day. I am a little surprised Jay-Z would play this so close to his own MIA festival. I thought he was gonna be a GovBall headliner next year. I would love the Gorillaz day with any combination of Nas, Erykah Badu, tv on the radio, 2door, blood orange,BSS, de la soul and sky ferreria. What do you guys think?

No festival wants to sell single days if they dont have to. Its a gamble.

I actually went last year cause I missed Kanye when he was in Miami and I liked the rest of the lineup enough. I had a good time, even with the Kim robbery debacle.
Probably wouldn't travel for it again until they get a different venue unless they really smash it out of the park one year, but like I said, if I was local or even in the Northeast I would be there this year.
Launchpad, what's the daily capacity of this? I think you said 40k last year which is interesting as that is 15k more than Gov Ball can hold but it doesn't really....FEEL...like a bigger space.

Both Gov Ball and Meadows are 50k. Panorama is "40k" (Randalls holds 50k but they moved the stage up so they could pretend it was smaller).

Yeah but that stage move is insanely important. Put the Main Stage on grass instead of Pavement - super important on hot Summer Days. Would be great if Gov Ball could follow suit and find a way to make up that 10k elsewhere.

If they had the demand, they would be trying to fit in as many people as possible. That was done for no other reason than to try and mask how few people showed up.
