Yeah. I dig Lola's. I like their paella. That's what we went to SF tonight for, but they don't make it on Friday or Saturday. A friend of mine who works at Santa Fe tried to tell me they had better paella and I called bs. But they didn't have it so idk. I always liked Cafe Grenada's best when they were open.
Ended up at Twelve Mile last night. Left around 11:30 for a weird ass house party, an hour before Twelve Mile GOT ROBBED AT GUNPOINT. So that sucks. Lucky I wasn't there at least

Hope everyone at Twelve Mile is safe.
I'm thinking about making it in late Thursday of the second weekend for Medeski, Martin, Wood, and Nels Cline at the Civic. Voodoo Dead, North Mississippi All Stars, and Hurray For The Riff Raff are the only others I've got my eye on so far for nights.

Glad you weren't there. I was held up twice while bartending at old point bar back in the day. Is not fun. Still get panic attacks from having a shotgun pointed at the back of head while on hands and knees. Crime is crazy right now again.
Starting to nail some things down. New mastersounds Sunday morning, wolfman Wednesday night, Tab and sonny at rock n bowl all locked in.
I'm getting all my up to jazz fest tickets tomorrow. I'll work on JF in the next few weeks but I'm waiting for the STS9 x2 (hopefully) announcement and whatever Break Science is doing. Then I'll work on moe. and everything else. Remember they gotta still have 75 or so shows to announce as well.

Definitely leaving room for others. These just seem to be the shows we won't be getting around no matter who else is playing
Colonel Bruce Hampton channels Howlin' Wolf with Special Guests Presale: spoonful (public on sale 2/3 at 11am) Friday April 28, 2017 at Le Petit Theatre
Yeah, it was fucking beautiful. Offbeat has full credibility, and they skewered The Chainsmokers as they should be skewered. Shit is terrible and appropriately called out.

I love the Chainsmokers are the Nickleback's of EDM.
And then there's the schmaltz. All three of The Chainsmokers' big hits from 2016 are anchored by the charisma of a more talented female vocalist. They're all hungover, melancholy half-ballads that pander to fake sentimentality. It's all phony sentimentalism awkwardly stacked between macho drops and tired bass warbles that do nothing but compensate for their lack of emotion. It's enough to make Diplo feel like a poet and Harris feel like a badass.
Break Science Live with The Russ Liquid A/C Test and The Werks will rule. I'll probably go to this on Saturday 4/29. I'm still going to wait for the STS9 announcement before buying tickets, but assuming there isn't a conflict, I'll be at this.
Otherwise, they have some good shows up. Mike Dillon Anarchist Percussion Consortium was great at Voodoo 2015.
You're right about the Rendevouz. That's a value buy for $35.00 for sure and will probably go from 10:00 at night until 7am or so.

Fuck 2016 with a tribute to lost musicians in 2016 featuring members of Turkuaz and The Motet <--- You know that will be good
Meters poster for 50th anniversary...hell yea! Will def be getting that. Still need to get my Big Chief Bo Dollis print framed. Those will compliment each other nicely.
I'm getting slightly annoyed with the holdup on STS9. I need that shit to plan the other night shows and to start socking away tickets for April and May damnit. Come on Tribe!
From their Twitter Account: Now on to continuing 2017 the way we started it: TOGETHER. We have some special announcements coming your way soon - stay tuned!!
Meters 50th anniversary late night gig @ the Orpheum 1st Saturday night. I like that they announced it suddenly with tickets already on sale. Got 2 floor tix. This, plus Foundations of Funk is prob all I'm doing for late nights this year. Gonna go to fest Thurs and 2nd Sunday to catch Meters again.
Will ride over early first Saturday and lurk outside Gentilly and hear the Shakes for free.
Kamasi Washington is doing 6 gigs at One Eyed Jacks (Aquarium Drunkard opening) Thursday 5/4, Friday 5/5 and Saturday 5/6 Show times for each night are 8pm and 11:55pm Tickets to all 6 went on sale today at 10:00am
Only having been able to catch a little of the show at Day for Night due to the set starting late, I'll try to get in on one of these sets if possible.
Here are some more night show adds. I think we're about 50-55% in at this point. I asked again last night about STS9, and "they" said it's definitely on. It's gotta be The Joy, and if so, that will mean First Saturday & First Sunday.
First Weekend:
Howlin Wolf The Den added The Werks which ticket is included with Break Science/Russ Liquid as well (Saturday) Howlin Wolf The Den added Gravy which ticket is included with Mixtape Mashup featuring Dumpstaphunk, Roosevelt Collier and The Motet (Friday)
The Little Gem (Ramp Room) added Stanton Moore Trio featuring David Torkanowsky & James Singleton (First Friday)
Maison added Stanton Moore Trio featuring Robert Walter & Will Bernard (Thursday 4/27)
One Eyed Jacks presents, "Neon-Medeski" featuring John Medeski, MONONEON, Robert Walter, Daru Jones, Skerik & DJ Logic (First Sunday); also they have a late night show that night featuring Stanton Moore, Eric Krasno and Will Blades (1:30am) --------------------- Days Between:
One Eyed Jacks (Monday 5/1) - Frequinox featuring Donald Harrison, Stanton Moore, Robert Mercurio, Robert Walter and Will Bernard plus Fockstar featuring Mike Dillon, MONONEON and Organ Freeman) Later that night the have Love-Glove featuring G. Love, Corey Glover, Erick Boliver, Andrew Block, Will Blades and DJ Logic)
That Tuesday following Dragon Smoke, they have The Whip (Brian J, Mike Dillon, Eric Bolivar, Corey Henry and DJ Logic) plus horns, bass, etc.
STS9 aka Sound Tribe Sector 9 aka Tribe shows are announced
As guessed, they will be playing The Joy on the first Saturday and first Sunday.
That leaves moe. open for Friday. I'll be at both of these shows no matter who else is playing in town. It's a little disappointing to miss Break Science Live and Russ Liquid, but I try not to ever miss STS9.
You beat me to it, but I didn't know they were doing Axe the Cables. I was going anyway, but this is cool. Any link on the Axe the Cables information? Joy hasn't posted yet, and Tribe just shows the tour.
