Prices for 3 day passes on Stubhub are now at the point where I'd lose money if I sold it. That's incredible considering how cheap a 3-day presale was.
That's why you should go instead of selling. Hit that $303 direct round-trip flight from United.
Link please cus that wud be a huge game changer. But I'm assuming there's no cancellation at a price like that. We got the room from Friday through Monday.
Looks like I'll be in New Orleans this weekend, when are daily lineups usually released?
Generally in mid-September I think.
Galactic is doing a show Saturday night 10/28 at Tipitina's (Halloween show). That should rule. They're playing Soul Kitchen in Mobile on Friday night as well.
LCD has their new album coming out in a couple of weeks. Murphy says it's a mix of sunshine and oppression. Dark. Apparently the two songs they played on SNL (Call the Police and American Dream) are not representative of the album that much. I don't know. Release is 9/1 so two weeks from Thursday.
Ghostland Observatory is playing the night before Voodoo (Thursday, October 26, 2017) at House of Blues. Presale is now through tomorrow night at 10:00pm w/ pw of CHORUS Public on sale Friday 8/18 @ 10:00am. I saw them last time they were in town for Jazz Fest 2016, but I'm already going to Tauk the night before. So I'm not sure about this one.

We goin fool even though Im seeing em a few weeks prior.
Btw, I don't know if you saw it in the stream thread, but Metallica is closing their tour tonight from Edmonton with a free webcast of that show. I watched Outside Lands on Saturday but that was a festival setup. I'm looking for that stadium show. 9:45 Central on their YouTube channel.
Charles Bradley has had to cancel again this year after cancer turned up in his liver. Many will recall he had to cancel his tour last year (including Voodoo) when he developed stomach cancer. Charles is a good guy, so this sucks. I wish him well with his treatment
I personally am still interested but I am shit fucking broke until October 20. My tire just almost blew out last night, and my Riot Fest trip is next fucking Thursday.

Let me know. Not trying to make money or anything. I think it was $125 after fees for the early bird.

Last year was my first year and I really enjoyed myself.
This year, I get to check off two bucket list bands (The Killers and Brand New) and I am a fan of the "bleep bloop". Long Live Voodoo.
Yeah. While it has a checkered past, it was always fun as shit. And last year's improvements made it top notch. I'm not super excited about the lineup at large because a lot of acts like Miguel, Post Malone and Kehlani don't really play things I want to hear. And while happy for the Foo Fighters, I'd seen them a bunch of times. All it took was Glastonbury live stream to remind me how fn great they are live. So I'm glad I went with the baller option. Just the same, for 125.00 you get Foo Fighters (arguably the top rock band in the world), Kendrick Lamar (arguably the biggest and most important rapper today), Afghan Whigs, Brand New, Killers, Head and Heart, LCD and Prophets of Rage, it's kind of a steal IMHO.
The headliners are coachella sized for a fraction of the price. Ill be shocked if this doesn't sellout.
I don't think they ever sell it out though. New configuration holds probably 60k. Crowds range 30-55k usually on a given day but as you know, it's only crowded if you want center rail.
Agreed but look at the Stubhub prices and the secondary market demand. Not good.
I really think C3 is trying to prop this up to the level of Lolla and ACL but I guess there isn't a market for it.
There's a market, but the city doesn't want and won't support generic festivals. That's a mistake C3 will make and correct in time. You can't just throw a bunch of the same undercard as Lolla or ACL. Voodoo being one of the longer lived rock festivals (Year 18 I think) was formed on alternative rock. It always had an edge because Rehage would throw bookings in that other festivals didn't necessarily book. And prior to C3, you pretty much could jam on brass and other NOLA stuff when you had schedule gaps. C3 said they didn't want to continue that because they're always here anyway and feel like why have some acts you could see sometime that month. They kind of missed the point there, and in years when they cater to younger people (many of whom would just be at the EDM area anyway), the older crowd who would show up for Metallica or Ozzy or whatever would tend to be disinterested. Jazz Fest is the big festival in the city (35-100k on a given day). Voodoo spans like 25k to 55k on a given day. I think another mistake that C3 is making is trying to change bookings too much toward the multi cultural side with the R&B they booked this year. Some people will enjoy that, but it's not really going to draw out the demographics they aim for. Additionally, I don't know any 21-25ers that are particularly psyched about the EDM lineup outside of a few acts like G. Jones or RL Grime (e.g. instead of bringing in eclectic stuff, they brought in DJ Snake and Dillon Francis). Galantis is going to sell tickets to 16-20 year olds, but they would be there anyway.
I think the setup they have can handle 60k. They won't sell that many tickets, but there will probably be 35-50k each day. You went last year, so you already know a lot of the movement between stage problems at other festivals don't exist. I prefer it that way because it is more laid back in that regard. Prices will probably go up in the next couple of weeks, so it should be no problem for zaj to recoup his money easily enough.
Ghostland Observatory is a House of Blues the Thursday 26th prior. Cant think of a better way to walking into Friday hungover and tired as fuck from dancing.
I agree 100% with esteban. Voodoo fest will not sell out, NOLA doesn't cap tickets to festivals. I also think that C3 is going to realize that they have to keep the bones of Voodoo or they are going to miss out on selling more than capacity like in the past.

I really respect NOLA for that. There is pretty obvious difference in the line ups from the past 2 years and from previous years. It's worth the price still.
