I think giving EDM The Other was genius. Everyone ends up happy that way.
honestly i think the marshmello hate is a lil against the spirit of roo honestly. like if you dont like an artist thats totally cool but to shit talk him and his fans is just kinda shitty. hes clearly got fans so to make them feel bad for liking him is lame. is he my favorite dj ever? not even close, is he the most talented, OH GOD NO, but you know what, im gonna fucking throw down to "moving on" and party my dick off late into the night to him. if you dont wanna join, see you later friend. but lets keep the hate out.
It's mainly the dopeness factor, it's like Mello turns up way higher

I can't downvote this post hard enough in reddit LOL.
Acts like Flume do typically appeal to the regular/dedicated EDM listener.
Yeah we just said the same thing. Most 'regular/dedicated EDM listeners' probably don't give a shit about the majority of these acts neither. @radiatebased was right on point comparing this lineup to a Kaliope pool.
Oh my bad, I thought you were saying something else nvm

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who laughed at that comment. Gotta love Reddit.
Just saw Kevin Morby last night and he absolutely should be on everyone's must see list Friday afternoon.
I'm gonna look into him a little more. Up against Strumbellas or Blossoms both of which I would see but don't really care about, it'd be nice to find something a little more exciting to start my day. That'll be a nice easy walk over to CSH after too.

Blossoms is cool, but If I were going to Roo I'd see him again. I enjoyed it that much. The new songs were great, fun stage presence, "jammed out" a bit, and closed with a fun Velvet Underground cover.

I'm biased considering they're mainly from my hometown, but the Strumbellas put on a super fun live show! Their time slot on the Which Stage is not ideal; but it will be dance party anyway!! (Maybe a slow one) I've been a huge fan for years and I'm excited to see them at Bonnaroo!!!
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.

Hahah, yeah, not saying people shouldn't like what they like. My wife made me see them at Newport last year and their stage banter and the way that they did basically everything they did on the stage...and the lyrics. Yeah, I don't usually have such a visceral reaction to a band. They're my Marshmello.
Yeah I think they were one of the worst bands I found while listening through the lineup
Their album was almost like a parody of Mumford style folk pop, every song starting with track one was trying to be some triumphant singalong, just terrible
It's also really inefficient. Just bring more bomb-sniffing dogs during car checks and ask staff to check bags more thoroughly.
Someone i think nailed it on the head. It's probably because Grande is a Live Nation Artist, and this will look like they're taking action more.
I agree dumb rule, not sure how enforced it will actually be come saturday/sunday. I'm all for heightened security but definitely better ways they could go about this.
