That's in regards to the legacy act but I know what you mean. However, even if U2 wasn't there, would people have considered RHCP as the "old school" legacy act? Seems like a stretch when you are putting them up against Dead & Co, Billie Joel, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Phish, Widespread Panic, Stevie Wonder.
But we are getting older so eventually FF and RHCP will be in that category at some point I guess.
Are these really considered legacy acts though? RHCP is just as old as Phish and WSP were formed three years after.
oh really? Damn. I'm not a fan of them so I wasn't really sure when they started or anything.
The thing that they get from legacy acts is an artist that can be listed in a USA Today headline about the festival when the lineup drops and then I'm their wrap-up blurb.
I think as long as it's near the top it serves the same purpose. It's that act that you can tell an older relative so and so is going to be there.

This reminds me of last year when literally every mock had Arcade Fire in it because "it just makes too much sense" then by august we find out that they are in Europe all of June. Cant wait for the same to happen with Fleetwood.

I agree, 99% of our predictions this far out don't come to fruition. I don't think Fleetwood Mac is playing Bonnaroo. In fact, if they do play Bonnaroo, I will take the time to post a video of myself reviewing the various pop tart flavors we are currently discussing in the Random Thoughts thread.

Fleetwood will probably play Europe/Glastonbury to kick off the tour and start hitting the states just in time for Lollapalooza

No Glasto next year, but they aren't playing anyways.

All of these Fleetwood Mac forecasts has me convinced that we're getting The Who.

I want them booked now strictly so we can see this.

It'll be interesting to see if Glasto's off year changes the landscape of the US summer fest scene next year. It could mean acts like Arctic Monkeys, Fleetwood Mac, VW, Arcade Fire, and QoTSA choose to spend some time in the US in June.

There's still dozens of Euro fests during that time.
Roo's issue with not booking certain acts has little to do with their availability.
Yup. Like they could have had The Avalanches. Not a very mainstream act that'll drive a ton of tickets, but it would have been a nice late night option to have opposite Big Gigantic or Marshmello. They just didn't care to book anything like that.

No, they don't belong in that group. Those are just classic Roo acts.

Waters would be the best get, but also a stretch.
I think Fleetwood are more likely than Waters. I'll be shocked if he doesn't spend most of next year touring outside the U.S. At least that's how The Wall tour went; all of 2010 in North America then all of 2011 in Europe

And Bonnaroo isn't the only US fest during that time either. I'm just curious if Glasto being off the table for bands means they find it more profitable to play US festivals and venues during that time.

Likely depends on the artist, but the Euro fests seem to be doing better than the U.S. fests. Sasquatch, Firefly, Panorama, etc. all had or have trouble selling this year.

Add I understand it, Glastonbury is more prestigious for acts than it is profitable. (Frankly, that's probably a better thing for Bonnaroo.)
"Glastonbury relies completely on good will. We’re not in the situation where we’re able to just give people enormous amounts of money. It’s probably less than 10% of what they’d get from playing any of the other major British commercial festivals.”
No offense, but If I were touring, I wouldn't spend my summer in Manchester, TN with The Killers and Bassnectar unless I absolutely had too. There are plenty of other cool opportunities outside of Glasto.
I just don't see what they've done since Hot Fuss. I caught some of their set at hangout a few years ago but I think they were up against Pretty Lights. What I saw was real Hot Fuss heavy.
I loved that album in high school, I'm re-listening to it now and my feelings haven't changed. This albums full of feels for me though, so probably biased. I hated their second album (Sam's Town) so much that I completely wrote them off. I didn't realize they were still relevant.

I'd enjoy seeing Muse at Bonnaroo. They're one of only headliners left that I haven't seen, so it's a bit selfish, but they looked great from the Firefly stream. Why haven't they played yet?
