GOTY material. I haven't seen anything out of the upper 90's
Off the top of my head, I can't think of anything getting that unanimous of a "this game is perfect" sentiment. Maybe one of the Valve games? I don't think even GTA V got this level of praise.
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory is the only other one that comes to mind.
After my first 18 hrs with it...I'm VERY impressed. This is easily the most sleek and well-designed piece of hardware Nintendo has ever released. Zelda deserves all the praise it's getting, the graphics and gameplay on this are next level. I was concerned how the graphics would look on this console but so far it seems to be PS4/X1 quality.
Also, picked up Super Bomberman last night, fun game. The single player is rather useless but the online battle mode is great! I'm very surprised how streamlined and easy Nintendo made the OS on this, it's very easy to pick up and play out of the box.
...and the best thing...NO LOAD TIMES! My biggest pet peeve with PS4 are the load times, and with Nintendo using cartridges this cycle it seems to have completely cut down on them
I had to "adult" today... it was so hard working knowing my Switch and Zelda were waiting for me... just now setting things up. I decided to get the pro controller, too. I have heard good feedback on it.
I didn't get an extended warranty, though. I may regret that...
Got the pro controller, won't be here till Monday. Thanks Best Buy. Amazon really skrewed the pooch though, copy of BoTW got delayed so I went and bought it at target.
After the first several hours with it, I'm satisfied. I don't think the joycons plus comfort grip are going to be for me though. Hoping I'll like the pro controller a little better.
OH, and Jet.com is the real deal. I pre ordered a console through them. They said they would have it to me on launch day but it never shipped this week, I emailed them and they gave me 20 dollars since it wouldnt be here on launch.
Then I had some credit card fraud issues, and just said it was easier to close my card and get a new one issued, I'm paranoid like that. I emailed them to see if I could change the card on file so the console would ship. They said there was no way to do that, but gave me another 50 dollars.
So I got 70 dollars from jet simply for placing a pre-order, that later got declined to my own paranoia. Plan on putting it towards a case if anyone has any recommendations.

I thought Dragon Age Origins was about as good as any game I've played. Morrowind I played with all the free time I had on the Navy ship back in the day, so I think my love for that game is biased.
I know when they created LoZ:BotW, they were inspired by modern games (Skyrim, Fallout, etc.). I see a lot of Shadow of Mordor influences. It's almost like Shadow of Mordor set inside of a Studio Ghibli world. I get more impressed with it the more I play it. It has definitely exceeded my expectactions.
I might get Bomberman if the lady and I get sick of Snipperclips, but the next game I plan on getting when it comes out is Puyo Puyo/Tetris.
If you ever played Dr Robotniks Mean Bean Machine on Sega Genesis, that's what Puyo Puyo is. So two of the best puzzle games in a multiplayer crossover. I'm really looking forward to it.
android app that uses the NFC tech in an android phone to write amiibo information to a nfc card. I bought 20 cards off ebay for 16 dollars and downloaded all the BoTW amiibos offiline. The function of the Smash Bros Link is pretty awesome too btw.

Ohhhh cool, I've never done anything with amiibos.

Yeah, I hadn't either. I grabbed the wolf link with a GS gift card and have since been buying the 5ish dollar ones when I saw them go on sale. I decided I wanted to collect a bunch for my new nephew to have one day. Won't pay full price though.
The only one I've opened up was the wolf link one. Oddly enough, I can't get it to scan. I can however get all the bootlegs to scan no problem.
I've got a bit more solid opinions on this thing now that I've had plenty of time to get used to it:
I'm totally okay with the Joycon controllers... I have yet to play the system as a handheld or with the two controllers on their own, but I'm totally fine with the little combiner thing they give you. It's a little small, and I do not like that there isn't an actual directional pad just individual buttons, and some of the buttons themselves are quite small. However, I've found it to work great for this game, at least. I do still get some occasional lag on the left Joycon, but resnapping it fixes it.
I really dig the interface, and the quick load times are a blessing at this point. I'm still having issues with slow connectivity every couple days, but it usually fixes itself after a few minutes. Still, I'm not getting anything over 6-7 mbps while other devices get at least 10, even in the same spot. One thing that I think is totally awesome is how you can access other regions' Eshop with different user profiles set in different countries. Japan appears to have some solid SNK stuff as well as what US has.
Finally, "Breath Of The Wild"... my lord. I am about 15 hours in at this point, and this game is so deep and flexible in terms of actual gameplay. I love the visuals and the character designs as well as their animations. One thing that I'm really taken aback by is how difficult portions can be... I've died in combat more times than I did this many hours in than any Dark Souls game, I'm pretty sure. Beyond that, the puzzle difficulty isn't too great so far, but when you have to use the controller itself to maneuver a maze to roll a ball its way into the goal, it can get pretty frustrating. This specific Shrine had me thinking to myself "this is the worst thing in the game so far"... I was ready to give up before I actually started tossing the ball along the maze to skip over walls. This, I found pretty brilliant... if you think you can do it, you can for the most part in this game. It ended up being a really rewarding mini game/puzzle. But yeah, so far this could end up being my favorite game in years.

If it's the maze I'm thinking of, I just turned the controller upside down and used the underside of it that didn't have the walls. Call me cheap, but it worked.
Edit: Finally got my pro controller tonight. It's the bees knees when it comes to a game pad, once the newness wears off of it I think I'll be ready to say it's my favorite controller ever. The comfort grip/joycon combo was alright for me, I just hated that flat piece underneath the joycons where my fingers would touch. And my grey joycons are already showing some signs of discoloration, but maybe I'm just a dirtier person that I thought I was.
I think by the time I 100 percent it the DLC will be out. I'm probably 15-20 hours in and have only done one guardian. Unlocked the towers on north east side of the map. And 16 shrines in. I read that there's 120 of them, and I don't plan on doing a final boss battle until they're nearly complete.
My only complaint is I want a sword... I am about seven shrines in and I keep running out of clubs and weak weapons that keep getting damaged. I might be overlooking it, but I hope I can find a stable, solid sword soon! lol
The durability of these weak weapons are really, really bad.
Nothing seems to last long. I've got some pretty solid stuff from my amiibos, but none of it lasts. One good enemy and it seems everything breaks. There is a certain amount of satisfaction that comes with chucking my favorite spear at a Bokoblin that resembles my brothers bad ass dog for one last bit of damage though.
edit: Swords are alright, I really really like spears though.

I just got the master sword and that shit don't break!

How many hours do you guesstimate you've got in it?
