Mario Red Joycons ordered from Japan, Mario Odyssey pre-ordered, Mario + Rabbids ordered (I broke). Between the two Marios, Splat, and the BoTW expansion, I think I'm set game wise for the remainder of the year.
Yeah, I was watching one of the live streams Sunday night. Looks stupid good, preordered from Amazon so I'll mostly just be staring at the clock tomorrow waiting on it to come in.
Anybody get on Odyssey yet? I picked it up the night it came out and have been playing it casually since (just about everyday, for about 30 minutes to an hour per day) and I have to say it's my favorite 3D platformers in at least the last ten years, and I loved Galaxy. I'd probably have to go back to the PS2/Gambecube days to find a platformer I've liked this much, just in general (namely Klonoa 2, and I still haven't played very much of Sunshine). I'm going to pretty much echo what negatives you've probably heard since the release of this game... it's not very difficult and borderline easy (but, there have been times that I've repeatedly died due to depth perception in jumping or enemies swarming me, so it's not a total cakewalk), the motion controls are annoying but not necessary, using the right joystick while trying to use action controls can be a bitch and mapping the controls to bumper/trigger buttons would have fixed that problem, and the Cappy gimmick can get a little old at times. Other than that, top notch game, and a total blast to play... in short spurts it's more fun than BOTW, but as a whole I don't think it's quite as good. I'd give it a 9/10.

Got it the day it came out. Put about 20 hours in to get through the story and resweep the first two areas. I think I'm around 250 moons at the moment.
It's got to be one of my favorite 3D platformers since galaxy, but it doesn't have a lot of competition since it's not my normal genre. I found the game easy to get through but it does get more difficult post game, mainly some of the post game bosses. If you feel the games easy, you'll probably enjoy the post game content. I would probably be spending a lot more time with the game if I wasn't devoting any free time to Splatoon right now. That said I'll probably binge on Mario over the holidays.
Almost three weeks later, I'm wondering this as well. I'm interested but I'm not seeing enough overwhelming praise for me to plop down the $60 for it. I may just wait for a price drop or if I can find a used copy for $20 less or so. Looks good, though (never played any of the other Xenoblades).

I know a few that are playing it and in love with it. I've watched a few people on twitch pay it and I don't know that it's my thing. Seems to be more complicated than I feel like a game should be.
That said, I'll probably bite once I can get a used copy for 40. I've stayed so occupied with Splatoon that I haven't been super interested in finding a new game.

Anyone I personally know that has played it doesn't have any thing great to say. Most people just seem to be playing it now because I spent $60 on it and they were hyped to play it.
Not even a big smash fan, but I'm super hype about it and will have it on day one. And the fact that they used splat to announce it hyped me up even further. If you haven't gotten it yet, you're really missing out.
I'm not really well educated on the history of Smash Bros, but has there been an incarnation with solid online multiplayer? This could be unbelievably massive if it has solid online play.
