I feel like this number has changed every time I have seen an article about his buyout, but this one appears the most legit. All total, the buyout for Jones and all his staff would be just shy of $14 million. The number is sure to dip as most of them will get a job elsewhere, but it highlights that firing him isn't going to be inconsequential money wise.

How much do the Tennessee money people want to win? I guess not that badly.

I think it'll happen this season. Just needs to notch another loss or two. I'd be shocked if he isn't fired if he loses South Carolina.
12-0 Bama 12-0 UGA possible at this point and the loser would still make it in imo.
Will never look past UF or GT and Auburn is going to be a toss up.
I would be cautious. Even though Georgia clearly appears to be a step ahead of UF/GT, the back-and-forth rivalry games are always unpredictable. If that Auburn game was this week I would imagine it would be a pick'em in vegas.
All the potential decisions the playoff committee might face I think are fascinating. I'll throw out a hypothetical for everybody. Bama and Penn State go undefeated - VT or Miami upsets undefeated Clemson in the ACC title game with one loss - Georgia's only loss is to Bama in the SEC title game - TCU wins Big12 title game with one loss & Wash. St wins Pac12 title game with one loss.

Exactly what I said. Said the same thing going into Neyland but still doesn't change the fact UGA could easily drop one in the Swamp or against GT. The Auburn game is going to be a coin flip and could easily be a loss. Wouldn't be completely shocked if they upset Bama in the Iron Bowl.
I don't see Penn St. surviving undefeated with Michigan, Ohio St., and Mich St all back to back. Nebraska and @ Maryland could also be trap games for them.
Wash St. goes undefeated imo looking at their remaining schedule and TCU drops one of their remaining regular season games (most likely at OU). Clemson seems like a playoff lock for me at this point. Miami has looked good but I'll never trust a Richt-coached team in a big game (if they make it to the ACCCG against Clemson.)

I don't think Penn State wins out, but if we beat OSU and Michigan, we can afford to drop one and still get into the B1G title game. Clemson will probably drop one, I'm eyeing that NC State game as their loss this year. They should win the ACC with one loss and be fine. The Pac 12 and Big 12 are wild cards, but my money is on a 1 loss UW winning the Pac 12 and I reckon the Big 12 beats itself and produces a 2 loss conf champ. There's a lot of football left to be played people.
Translation: My players need to stop fighting each other in practice.
Alternate Translation: Dormady will continue to start because I am both incompetent and tone-deaf, but Guarantano is gaining valuable experience by not playing.

So, uh, Oregon State and Gary Anderson mutually parted ways like 10 minutes ago. Waived all buyouts and compensation...just walked away from each other. On October 9th. That's a little strange...

1-5 this season, I wouldn’t call it entirely strange. I guess they both understood how it was going to end anyway.

It's just wacky for the coach to give up his buy-out unless he was into something shady. Isn't Alabama still paying Mike Shula?

For those that have been before, how is seeing a game at Bobby Dodd Stadium? I'm considering making the trip in a month for the Virginia Tech game. Will be waiting until 5-6 days beforehand to commit so I can see the forecast and kickoff time (would prob have to pass on a noon start). From Asheville, it's the same drive going to ATL compared to Blacksburg, and tickets seem pretty cheap for GT games. potentpotables - didn't you go to the Pitt/GT game a few weeks ago?
Wondering about tailgating/parking, traffic going in and after the game, and anything else worth knowing.

Yes, it was a good experience.
- stayed in Buckhead - ubered to the game (maybe a $15 uber?) - bars on the east side of 85 - walked across bridge to stadium - went to The Varsity after the game before ubering back to Buckhead
Tickets are very cheap, got four for like $30 each after stubhub fees that were maybe 20 rows behind Pitt bench.
People are already starting up the OSU - Mike Riley rumors.
Some say he's on the hot seat at Nebraska and may get ousted at the end of the season if there's another mediocre year. Some think he's gone if they get blown out by Ohio State. I have no idea if 7-5 would be the end of the world for Nebraska, but it might free up Riley for a return to Corvallis.

Tennessee drama for today:
Jones made it official that Guarantano is starting Saturday versus South Carolina. In the wake of this, the rumor mill started quick saying Dormady is leaving the program. This would be more entertaining if it wasn't my team.

Well you may get Hunter Johnson back. If you can wait 2 years.

They’ve been waiting quite a while. What’s another two years? For real though, this has got to be the most dysfunctional team right now—so now I’m just wondering how much longer it will last for Jones.

He's basically a dead man walking, and I think everyone knows it.

The sentiment I get around town is that it's a matter of what game rather than if it'll happen this season. Just depends on where and how the team loses going forward.
