It's at 2:1 now for gruden. People are going nuts. I'm starting to feel a little bad for Butch. Like, I want him gone but he did drag us out of the dooley-depths. It feels disrespectful talking about him like he's gone already.

Tennessee fans are vicious at times. I remember the same thing happened with Fulmer. Guy spent decades working for Tennessee football and brought a national championship back to Knoxville. I agreed it was probably time for him to go, but some people acted like they were removing a cancer from the program when they fired him. My admin and I decided the other day that we may be serving a Curse of the Bambino type situation for the way he got done.

My wife has firmly held this belief since kiffin bolted in the night. She won't even talk about coaches. As grumors heat up, she just gets more like an old lady in a kids' Halloween movie warning about the Fulmer curse and evoking ominous violin music and a crack of lightning.

On the subject of Tennessee self hatred,
They confirmed that the guy who cracked a teammate's orbital bone in practice will be back today after sitting two games.
They also confirmed the guy who gave the crowd the finger at Alabama will not be suspended at all.
The backup quarterback did not make the trip. He is supposedly having season ending shoulder surgery. Rumor states he will transfer at the end of the season. The new backup is a true freshman. At least he's dual threat so Jones won't have to avoid making changes to gameplan to suit his personnel.
When did Iowa State get their shit together? Nothing makes sense anymore.
It's crazy, they haven't won more then 3 games in a season in the past 4 years and they're getting ready to move to the top 20.
Miami is the worse 7-0, soon to be top 7 team of all time. It took 4th & long conversions on game winning drives for them to beat FSU & GT, last two weeks they have struggled against Cuse & UNC (and UNC is AWFUL this year). As long as VT is not -2 or worse in turnovers next week, I think we will be alright. I don't see ND struggling with them either in two weeks. Speaking of ND, I'm really afraid they're going to win-out and steal a playoff spot.
The world is a much different place since Tennessee’s offense last found the end zone, some 34 days ago. The score came on an eight-yard toss from Quinten Dormady to Tyler Byrd in the second quarter of the UMass game (LOL), and the Vols haven’t put a touchdown on the board since.
Here’s what life was like way back then, when Tennessee’s offense contributed to society…
— The Price of Gas: $2.55 — The Price of a Gallon of Milk: $3.12 — The No. 1 Song in America: Taylor Swift — “Look What You Made Me Do” — The No. 1 Movie in America: It
And here’s some of what has happened since then… — 12.2 million people were born. — Nintendo released the SNES Classic gaming console. — The FBI turned college basketball upside down. — Rick Pitino and Tom Jurich were fired. — The Confederate statues were removed from downtown Lexington. — The NCAA finally ended its investigation into UNC. — The United States failed to qualify for the World Cup. — The JFK documents were (partially) released. — Pardon My Take got its own television show on ESPN. — ESPN canceled the Pardon My Take television show. — We lost Fats Domino, Hugh Hefner and Tom Petty. — Alabama scored 238 points. — Butch Jones made $382,849.

Rucker knows what's up. I've really been trying to think of things after the game, and I just don't know what else aside from losing to a C-USA team at homecoming. The silver lining is that I do think Guarantano can be really good in the long term.
