Bams,Georgia, Clemson, Notre Dame, Ohio St. Who gets left out?
Assuming Bama and UGA wins out and Bama wins the SEC title game, and the rest of those teams win out...it would come down to ND/OSU. I think that would be the only situation ND potentially gets left out. If anybody else wins the ACC championship, ND would be ahead of them to get in if they win out. Michigan could also take out a Big10 appearance in the playoff. They could beat Ohio St in the big house, Ohio St could go on to win Big10 title game with 2 losses. They could also beat Wisconsin and then Wisconsin could go on to win the title game...can't see them getting in unless they're undefeated.
VT/Miami penciled in for the prime-time ABC game next week. In the off-chance VT wins out, they will definitely need OU to have another loss. At this point, that seems to be the only shot the Big12 has at having a team in. It would be hard to keep them out though if they run the table. Strong non-conference win in the horseshoe, and that Iowa St game is not a bad loss now.
Jones is reportedly surviving another week. What. The. Fuck?
If you read national guys, the deal is done but Currie won't do it during the season. He is eminently prepared for the search, having been on constant alert for the Snyder retirement (that hasn't come) at KSU before leaving for Knoxville. So, I think I believe those guys and we should stop waiting for that particular shoe to drop until after Thanksgiving.

Anybody who suggests Wisconsin will not be taken seriously by me - how will you recover from that??
Wisconsin's opponents before yesterday had an average Sagarin rating of 90.6. 90.6! And then they somehow played a team that was rated 30% worse (#118 overall) in Illinois. They can't be taken seriously as a playoff candidate. I don't care if they win out and beat the Buckeyes in the B1G title game. Can't allow this to happen.
1. Alabama 2. Georgia 3. Clemson 4. Notre Dame
Clemson has 6 wins against P5 teams with winning records. I think Notre Dame is second with 4.

Florida, on the other hand...(fork 'em)
It's really just about optics at this point. It looks like we're screwing around and the local fan base is losing their shit. If he stays in all year, there's a good possibility that they put up an all time attendance low for Vanderbilt. At the very least, he needs to say that it will be dealt with at the end of the season. That will give people some kind of idea that there is a plan going forward.
P.S. Another story stated they have offered Gruden $10 million plus per year. Jesus.
You could actually be in a close game, and give up the game winner with a minute or two left. But hey, it's new energy. And not giving up 35 points a game.

I would imagine so. Going to be fun to see how this plays out for Florida & UT.
Probably one better than the other. How do you feel about Fuente being brought up repeatedly as a potential replacement?
I be shocked if he bolted after this season. He just up-rooted his family and multiple assistant coaches less than two years ago. I know money talks and it's the SEC, and I also know odds are low he puts in 10+ years in Blacksburg....but I can't see it happening this soon.
In all honesty we're not that great, but I hope we can sneak into the ACC Championship somehow. I have literally no hope for the Playoffs despite being 7-0. We'll lose at least one our next two games (Vtech and Notre Dame) and then it's over.

Don't get me wrong, Miami is in a great spot and is setup for a nice future with Richt at the helm...but having a back-and-fourth game with one of the three worse power 5 teams this season is not a good look. If you lose to us next week then it's over, just because VT will be in the drivers seat for the ACC title game matchup. If you beat us though and go on to lose to ND I wouldn't say it's over. You would have a shot at 1 loss if you win the ACC championship, but would need help (as would VT if they're in that spot). Norte Dame losing @stanford would go a long way, OU not winning out would go a long way, and Michigan disrupting the Big10 would be nice.
With all that said, I don't think VT or Miami could take down Clemson. Just would be nice to have some actual hope going into that game.

Maybe we'll get lucky and NC State can take them down this week.
You both still have to go through the resurgent Pitt Panthers, I wouldn't count my chickens if I were you...
If the Canes win this weekend we basically clinch our division already regardless. If Virginia loses to GTech and we win we actually do clinch it. I'm not concerned about the Playoffs, just the ACC.
