It still blows my mind that Florida, Tennessee and Nebraska are among the worst teams in the country. FSU and Texas not much better.
I was actually excited when Nebraska was added to the Big Ten because I thought they'd be a legitimate powerhouse that would help bolster the reputation of the conference. I figured they'd be the opposite of what we knew Maryland and Rutgers were destined to be. I guess they haven't been terrible, but they haven't exactly been perennial title competitors. And you're right, it's hard to believe that those other teams you mention ever have bad seasons, especially all at once.
I'm still surprised Rutgers managed to get into the Big 10. Yeah they're between Philly and NYC, but in what sport have they ever been good at? At least more than some flash in the pan.
I would have expected UConn to have gotten in before them. Now UConn is desperate trying to get into the Big 12.

potentpotables, are you excited the carousel is hitting warp speed? I'm excited.
Other reports from today: - Taggart got offered Ole Miss and turned it down. - Bielema is getting fired which is not shocking. What is shocking is that Malzahn has reportedly expressed interest depending on the outcome of the Iron Bowl and if he gets a hand in picking the new AD. - Currie reportedly only met with Gruden to shut up certain boosters. Candidates mentioned in the report are Mullen and Greg Schiano who is not a name I had heard yet.
It's amazing how much you can stop giving a shit when you *know* your team is gonna be bad.
The Beavers one win this year was against FCS Portland State... by three. How much worse can you possibly get? I mean, Butch Jones might be an upgrade to a situation like this, especially when you have no pressure and no expectations. Down in Eugene, they can do significantly better because of Nike money. In Corvallis, they don't have that luxury. From what I've gathered, it might be one of the most underfunded football programs in all of FBS.
And let's be real. Mike Riley is gonna get bounced from Nebraska and come back, again.
Funny to read y’all think uga is outta this thing.
What makes you think they can beat Bama or Auburn after that beat down?
What makes you think they cant? Considering bama almost lost to Miss state and we have a much better d. Also when they play next time we will be in uga territory.

That's pretty optimistic. I think only UGa fans believe you can pull that off.

I think they might have a better chance against Bama. Nothing about that first matchup makes me think they can beat Auburn.
As Krisp said, it will be in Atlanta, far different than being an Auburn home game. They ran into a buzz saw, that's all. Nobody would have beaten Auburn that day.

Was Sumlin fired too? I'm in the smokies and relying on data, no internet.

I don't think where the game is will matter that much. It might be a little closer but I definitely wouldn't expect UGa to win.

I actually think OSU is a good landing spot for Butch. Lower (basically no) expecations. The guy is a walking a meme, but he does have heart and I think he really did care about UT and his players. OSU is low pressure and I think he could increase their talent (he is a good recruiter) and steal a few in the pac12.
As for malzahn, he's from Arkansas, was OC at UA, HC at Arkansas state. And the auburn fanbase is so hot and cold on him I could see him being over the constant threat of the hot seat. They were calling for his head at the beginning of this season.

I knew about his Arkansas connection. Just surprised he'd really think on leaving Auburn. I guess it's a similar situation to Cuonzo at Tennessee where he left largely because he got tired of the fan base's relationship with him.
