Alabama belongs nowhere near the playoff. Whenever wins this game, the ACC title, Oklahoma, and whomever wins the big 10 imo.
Georgia has the worst discipline i can remember. They could be great if they’d stop being such idiots. Some questionable calls but also several missed calls
I don't think I agree Kim. I don't think either of the Big 10 teams are as good though id give an invite to Wisconsin if they win off their undefeated season. I actually don't think Georgia is in the same class as Alabama either. Really Clemson if they win and OU are locks. Wisconsin should be with a win. If tOSU wins, either they and Alabama or Alabama and Georgia probably should get in.
Scratch that. OSU winning probably does nothing but ensure GA and AL both get in.
If I’m picking based on who i think are the best teams, maybe it’s different. My opinion is just no team that didn’t win their conference should make the playoffs. That’s obviously just my opinion tho
There is indeed a question re the ACC. Scenario: Clemson loses
#1.OU up from 3 #2. WI with win (out with loss) #3. GA moves up from 6 and leapfrogs AL, Clemson, AU #4. AL? Currently #5 Moves up 1 over AU and Clemson #4. Miami? Currently #7 would have to move up 3
As for Big 10 Champ (which I know you didn't mention) If Clemson loses and Ohio State wins and doesn't destroy Wisconsin, can they get to 4 from 8? Legitimate questions and also with the human voting factor, we don't know who will be loyal to which accomplishments.
Not sure I agree there either potent. I don’t see the voters putting Miami in over Alabama. Fortunately for UGA, they didn’t have to face the Tide this year (so far). I doubt many people think they are the better team either. But the SEC title probably gives UGA the edge vs Bama
Bama wasn't the same team after the defensive injuries otherwise I'd agree with UGA being fortunate to face Auburn in the SECCG. If OSU edges out Wisconsin, Bama should be in.
The way shit is looking at the moment with Clemson up big in the 2nd is that Clemson and Oklahoma would be in as 1 and 2. Georgia most likely would get in too and would likely be 4 with a Wisconsin win or would be 3 if WI loses. Also a WI loss noted before - I'd think Alabama would have the edge over Ohio State as an 8 though maybe not if they had come into the week as a 7.
I still don't understand how Cuse beat Clemson, looks like they're going to have this wrapped up by halftime.
Qb was already injured, then knocked out of the game. Backup kicker missed 2 fgs. But the weirdest thing was how bad our defense played. That and NC St were the only game that the starters gave up more than a td.
4: Ohio State if they blowout Wisconsin; otherwise it’s Bama
It’ll be so weird if there isn’t a PAC 12 or Big Ten team in the Rose Bowl.
Agreed aside from I don't think Ohio State needs to blow out Wisconsin to get in the discussion. I could see them putting in Bama even with a blowout win but also could see Ohio State in with a close win.
I see them as having the best resume right now. Only loss to a 10-3 auburn team, which they decidedly avenged.
Clemson is good but lost to a shitty Syracuse team.
An Iowa State team punching above it's weight class took down OU.
I dunno. I out UGA above both.
Clemson has a deeper resume. Both teams had a loss on the road, Clemson's was without their QB and their K missed two fgs, Georgia got blown out. I think they are the best two teams, it's really just a contest of which gets to see if they give up the first points to a Big Ten team in the playoff since January 2015.
That was a clumsy way of saying that a Big Ten team hasn't scored in the playoff since OSU beat Alabama in the first playoff. And I think both of these teams have a chance to extend that streak. It's not likely but neither was it last year.
On one hand it doesn't seem fair that Bama lost to Auburn, Uga lost to Auburn, then beat Auburn and that win is considered more important and then Bama gets a chance to win and maybe play Uga for a national championship. On the other hand, are there really any better options? Ohio St didn't really deserve it.
