First time I have ever rooted for ND in anything. If they get selected for a NY6 bowl, Hokies will be Citrus Bowl bound. If they don't, more than likely Camping World Bowl (funny that are two most likely bowls are played at the same stadium).
Would rather play on New Years days against LSU compared to playing on a Thursday afternoon against a Big 12 team. If we are playing in the Camping World Bowl, Oklahoma St. would be a fun matchup. Top 5 offense in points per game against a top 5 defense in points per game.

happy with the top 4, I think OSU has a better argument if they murdered Sconny, but a top 4 team in the country doesn't let an unranked team put up 55 on them.
Also stoked to be playing Washington, I think that'll be a really fun game.
I'm hoping somehow Alabama and Clemson both manage to lose here on Jan 1st. There is a small chance I end up actually going to this game because my brother and sister-in-law are huge Clemson fans (mainly her because she graduated from there and is on faculty) and they are going. And by that I mean I'll go if they buy me a ticket. They can sleep in my house but I'm not paying for a ticket. If I go, I'll cheer with Clemson but I refuse to wear orange. Even if I don't go, fuck Alabama. I'll cheer for literally anyone over Alabama.
And yet so many people here think I'm crazy for wanting them to at least talk to Venables about the coaching job.
To be fair, Sang hasn't been that bad since they won last year.
I agree. I think I was a lot worse before we started winning everything. A lot of that was opinion "I think Clemson is this..." Now it's facts.
I don't think Venables is going anywhere. I think the only places that he would go is Kan St or Oklahoma.
It's not even a "they better sign him or else". It's a "hey, this guy might be good. We should look at him." thing. He's got a good thing going at Clemson. I agree he won't jump unless it's for the right opportunity.
I swear I wasn't hiding after the blowout, just had an issue where I couldn't log in on my mobile while I was in Charlotte.
Congrats sang_xcx I'll be rooting for y'all the rest of the way, as painful as that game was to endure.
I wonder if it would had been a better game if you had more than one good wr healthy? I don't know, I think we beat everyone if we play that well.
I was more disheartened by how our defense got mowed over so easily. I don't think healthy receivers would have helped, our QB still can't make easy throws downfield. It's a miracle we won 10 games.
Thank goodness OSU didn't get in. JT will never be more than a qb that's great against bad teams and one dimensional against good teams. As soon as he came out the first drive against Wisconsin I said we wouldn't/shouldn't make it. OSU would get beat by 20+ again by Clemson with JT a QB. Haskins is far from proven but the he at least gives the threat of being able to complete more than 10% of passes 15 yds down field. The ability to stretch the field make their running game almost impossible to stop. Unfortunately, Urban is the leader of the JT fan club.

I expected your defense to play a lot better than that. I thought it was going to be low scoring closer game.

Yeah I’m excited to see what OSU looks like without JT. I really like what I’ve seen from Haskins.
Unsurprisingly, Michigan was the first name I saw come up as a potential landing spot.
So apparently this might really be happening, along with a WR. I am extremely interested. If Michigan had been able field even a replacement level QB they could have had at least 1 or 2 more wins. IF they land Shea and IF he’s immediately eligible, with basically all their other players returning they’re absolutely in the conference title hunt.
Edit: Even without Shea, Peters looks like he’s gonna be the guy and make us very dangerous next year. But if Harbaugh truly hits ignition next year, and does it with two players he swooped from SEC country, the takes will be a thing of pure beauty.
Reports are Fulmer has these names under consideration as the new HC (in no order)
SMU coach Chad Morris Former LSU coach Les Miles Auburn defensive coordinator Kevin Steele Georgia defensive coordinator Mel Tucker Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables
Other reports state that he would like to have the decision made by end of the day tomorrow. That would be surprising to me. I figured more toward the end of the week at the earliest.
