Reports are Fulmer has these names under consideration as the new HC (in no order)
SMU coach Chad Morris Former LSU coach Les Miles Auburn defensive coordinator Kevin Steele Georgia defensive coordinator Mel Tucker Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables
Other reports state that he would like to have the decision made by end of the day tomorrow. That would be surprising to me. I figured more toward the end of the week at the earliest.
Did you hear Will West's piece on the past ten years today? It's pretty interesting and cool. It's basically called, "Why Tennessee has sucked for the last ten years." He's going to write up a version for us to print, as well.

I was doing well in the pick'em until I had to start picking Penn St for 10 points every week to hopefully jinx them. It worked twice...to my pick em pool's detriment.

Notre Dame and Tennessee have cost me on numerous occasions.

Had you seen the report about Chris Peterson? Long shot, but the name was out there last night.

I just wanted to add that my #1 reason for disliking Clemson is that they are becoming the new Alabama, i.e. the perennial power house team. My #2 reason is Dabo. Dabo is more tolerable than Saban from a personality standpoint, but his religious/political views on gay marriage and abortion are annoying. #3 is the Clemson super fans (cough! cough!) who take every opportunity to mention reasons why Clemson is the best team this decade and point out how well former Clemson players are doing in the NFL. I'm not just talking about sang here. It's as if they REALLY REALLY want people to hate them as much as we all hate Alabama fans. I don't get it. We all know Clemson is a great program. I have a few folks on social media who do this. I don't really like super fans of any team, to be honest, it just seems like Clemson fans are the loudest. Makes sense when your team wins every year.
Alabama is the worst, though. Their fans are insufferable. Their fans barely speak English. My happiest moments every season are when the camera man pans over sad Alabama fans when the Tide eventually loses their one game a year. It's as if someone showed them proof that the Earth is round and their brains can't handle the information. It's beautiful.
Oklahoma in general just isn't interesting to me. They're a great program that I know almost nothing about every year.
At least Georgia is a new face to the National Championship stage. It feels like Chubb has been a Georgia Bulldog for 6 or 7 years now.
I say all this, but in the end I honestly don't even really care about college football. I watch maybe ten total games from beginning to end per year.

I think the real truth behind is Clemson is our pro team. Until the Panthers came in the 90's we didn't have a pro team. Even after the Panthers came I never fully bought in. I actually go back and forth between the Panthers and Falcons. Both are 2 hr. away. But Clemson is always going to be my #1. I follow the guys that go to the pros and honestly I think the Texans are my pro team as long as Watson is there. I was getting way more into watching him than either of the other pro teams. I think Bama is a similar position. Bama is it for them.
Bill Clark. Dude took a program that hadn’t played a single game of football in two years and lost the majority of it’s players to an 8-4 Record and a Bowl game. Frost is great, but Clark is the most deserving.

To update,
SMU coach Chad Morris Former LSU coach Les Miles Auburn defensive coordinator Kevin Steele Georgia defensive coordinator Mel Tucker Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables Toledo coach Jason Candle Memphis coach Mike Norvell Alabama defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt Washington coach Chris Petersen
Edit: Morris to Arkansas. Also, Fulmer and Tee Martin have reportedly talked but it's unsure as to what role they spoke about.
It has been previously covered this is wishful thinking on Tennessee's part.
Wishful thinking is like calling this coaching search a mild embarrassment.
There is a better shot Nick Saban is Tennessee's coach next season than Chris Petersen
My admin legit asked me how much I thought it would take Saban to come to Tennessee. I don't know how to deal with stuff like that.
This coaching search has been something. People can look at it however they want to, but I get the feeling this caused some things to happen behind the scenes that will lead to a more positive outcome for Tennessee down the road. Given that, wish it could have been smoother but I'll take it.

Get Jimmy Haslam out of the picture and we're golden. He's already ruined one franchise, but I guess some people have to have it all.
