Big Boi also seems to be skipping Texas on his tour, idk if that makes him likely.
Phantogram mentioned they are doing Big Grams Too, but didn't elaborate where they are in the process. That was an interview with Sal Masekela last weekend on Red Bull. I'd be fine w/ either of those acts.
Also, a quick scan of working on a Sunday night reveals nothing. But...
M83 - Sunday Night 1987 (I'd rather see them there than almost anyone) 070 Shake - Sunday Night J Minus - Another Sunday Evening Last Dinosaurs - Sunday Night Keith Urban - I never work on a Sunday Frank Turner - Sunday Nights
You don't like them or did you find them boring or bad when you saw fhem? We diverge tastes at about 50%, particularly when it comes to softer shit. But I still listen to your opinions. I heard from a few people who saw them last year that they were enjoyable live. I've seen Big Boi and I've seen Phantogram. Both were fine. And I caught a piece of a stream last year, but I don't recall having much of an opinion one way or the other.

I just think they would be pretty high on this lineup (around where RTJ were last year) and I'd rather they book something more interesting in that spot.

I'm with ken on where theyd be booked is more the issue, and id rather just have big boi because I liked the last album. but i've seen BB is all three of his ventures, and dude's a pro's pro. No backing track, energy throughout, interacts with the fans, across outkast, solo and BGs. id rather see both of them separately because their respective discogs are better than BG, but as long as they weren't knocking out a potentially better act id be fine with it. and if they happen to hit NOLA or something you should go.
You could get some. You had bad ass photos last year. Do a story with lots of positive press. Do it do it do it.
We ran a story with a bunch of positive press that included the photos. Doesn't mean I get to know the lineup before its released for the following year, lol.

Aka I rambled on about how Aphex Twin was a spiritual/life changing experience.
But I mean, yes - definitely counts as positive press
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
I wonder why anything is being tested this far out in advance? Perhaps it is for a different event this month they're associated with and felt they might as well tease the return.
We should know something soon. Maybe this week with all the frequent posts from Omar and D4N.

Looks like Index Fest (formerly Untapped), is holding their event there in just over a month.
I like the fact that it will be at Post HTX again, especially since there have been other events there since. Hopefully they have the bathroom situation figured out now, and they'll have a better idea of how to fully utilize the space.
And for the love of Aphex, put some sort of cool led lighting in some hallways so it's not a haunted house.
Also please put a fucking table and CDJs upstairs and have nonstop 3hr techno sets!
Bring that pascifier, Day Glow, smiley faces, hello kitty shit, sunglasses at all hours (for some), that way all the rolling and out of control Gen Xers can be out of my way. Then put endless drop djs on the 3rd and 4th floors which will take care of The Who knows what it actually is that we took millenials. Saves me the front row to see everything else.
All kidding aside, I'm excited about the lineup in a few weeks. I'm assuming I will only have heard of 40-45% of the acts and maybe know or have seen 20%. (?)
I think and hope they will bring Flying Lotus back with the 3D show that got the great press when he recently debuted it. I'm sure we will get Welcome to Houston again, and that's already Top 10 for me walking in the door. I'd like to see them work with 1 or 2 jambands on the green stage. They already have the best light shows, but in this context, there could be some heavy creative collaborations. PapaD did that ultra sick pattern show I think at Red Rocks. Lotus would be ideal or of course Tribe. Don't bitch mfers, that's only one set.
With the rap last year from RZA, RTJ and other out of town acts, you figure we will get some out of town upper card rap. I'm not sure who makes sense or who is already scheduled for fall shows in Houston. But I do expect a couple of the top few of the acts to be rap. Plus they had local stuff like Travis Scott who is now upper card and then Mikki Blanco who is from there. So yeah, there will be good rap.
For the more freak show shit like Ariel Pink, Buttholes and all, they'll be filling some of those niches too. Plus rock, higher level shit and what have you. Haha. Didn't mean to ramble there but there was some eclectic shit from lots of genres, so I'm excited to see what we get.
/drinking before the A Tribe Called Quest and Metallica live shows in a couple hours
FWIW - The owner's "liked" music on his FB which includes most of last year's line ups a few artist discussed already. St Vincent has no TX dates and is one of the liked artists. To tease Launchpad McQuack a bit, Boards of Canada is also on the list.

If they can secure the Post for the next few years, then this has the opportunity to change the game of festival production (as if it hasn't already).
I somewhat enjoy the haunted house spookiness of the atmosphere and encourage more of it.

I definitely enjoyed the abandoned warehouse feel, but there were some areas that were absolutely pitch black. Give me a background glow so I don't accidentally step on someone!
