I'm doing this fest solo, booking a flight next week and will start looking for a place to stay soon after. I've never done this fest or Houston so hopefully some of you can help me out. What a fackin lineup though
We really need to rename this board. All we talk about is all of these other fests that are way better than Bonnaroo now.
I've already hit up the "shareholders" and stated that I think this forum would be hugely successful as just a general festival forum, rather than just focued on Bonnaroo, but no dice.
Ironically enough, there was a small contingent of users that thought the same thing like 10 or so years ago. Idk if that board even exists or not but it was a thing.

Stay at Club Quarters Hotel in Downtown Houston. Walking distance to the fest and very reasonable prices for a decent clean hotel. Its where most of us are staying. You can book it on Booking.com with No Deposit and Free Cancellation. I'd jump on it today though as it WILL book up.
Yeah man. Day for Night brings everyone with eclectic tastes together more than any other festival. Question is, is it just us music freaks though? Presale should have flown off the shelves. Last year should have sold out. It didn't happen. Maybe too good a thing? Glad you are planning on making it man.
Yes. But if you like the lineup and think youll have a great time, it shouldnt matter. Smaller crowds make for a better experience anyway.
But if you are complaining that fests like Roo or Lolla don't have similar lineups, there's your answer.
I agree for sure about smaller crowds. I was jealous as shit of you and everyone who was at some of those early Meadows sets. My thing with Day for Night is that I want it to succeed financially because it's the only non-local festival that I already know I want to go to 9 months before the lineup is out. That's the confidence I have in Omar Afra. My biggest issue is finding a big enough Air B&B for the 8 people tagging along. We had a palace 4 miles away last year, but they aren't on for this year. We will find something in the 750.00 range for 3 nights or else I'll sleep in my fucking car. I don't even care.

I'm actually interested in this. What would it be called?

How are there some of you who arent familiar with NIN? Like, what the actual fuck?
I know their hits, but never listened to any of their albums aside from their most recent album from 2013. I'll dig in ASAP.
Pretty Hate Machine in 1989 was the album that skyrocketed them to stardom. Downward Spiral in 1994 was probably the biggest. You know a lot more songs than you think you do - from Closer (I want to **** you like an animal...) to Head Like a Hole to Bite the Hand that Feeds to March of the Pigs to Hurt. I teared up a little watching the Hurt encore a few weeks ago at FYF. Damn. But if you listen to those 5 songs, you'll probably know them all and end up knowing a lot more stuff. I believe Trent used to write and perform all or most of the instruments in the early days and would put together a touring band to pull it off. So he kind of was Nine Inch Nails. I'm not sure if he still writes and performs everything or leaves that work up to his band now though.

I was under the assumption Friday was a 'pre-party' is that not the case this year? Is it an actual fest day? If so I need to change hotel rooms accordingly.

Well it was a few years back now and I was interested in actually purchasing it and incorporating it with FestivalSnobs.com. At the time www.festivalforums.com was available (still is actually)
But now I'm 32 and over the shits and will probably shut the site down next year. (Or sell it)

Friday is a pre-party, but an official one at the venue. Regular GA tickets do not get you into the Friday pre-party, you have to purchase a special ticket for it.

As long as NIN isn't part of the pre party i'm cool with it.. but have to assume some of the names on the undercard are pre party only.

The first presale listed all three days for the $108. Was that a mistake? If so can I upgrade? Free booze and checking out the place a day early is enough for me too jump on that.

That must have been a typo. I just looked at my confirmation/receipt email from when I bought my tickets in December last year, and it states it's a general admission ticket and only lists the 16th and 17th.
Depending on the lineup, I might look to upgrade my ticket to include a Friday preparty pass. I imagine we'll have to email and talk with someone, but I can't see it being an issue. They want to sell us a ticket, and they see we're early backers.
I bet someone over at Club Quarters is wondering what the hell is going on with the flurry of bookings!

It's entirely possible, but probably unlikely that Trent would do some side thing on Friday. But the main NIN show will for sure be during the main 2 fest days.
I could see Thom doing a DJ set on Fri, and hopefully a full live set during the fest.

The pre-party last year was pretty uneventful as far as artists are concerned and I believe were announced as separate from the line-up. Always subject to change but it was a Bjork DJ Set, Kam Franklin of the Suffers DJ Set, DJ Windows 98 (Win Buttler, AF) and some band I never heard of em opened the night. Killer Mike was also announced as part of the pre-party but nothing schedule the day of the event. It was one stage with about 25% of the grounds open for attendees.
