At one point, I am disappointed in all of you for not being more hype for The Jesus Lizard. At another point, I have no idea (aside from the Texas connection) as to why they are on this lineup.
Yeah, yeah you do know. First show in 8 years. I got a feeling more will be on the way soon.
I think those records just got a fresh reissue, too.

Must: NIN, Thom, Justice, James Blake, Jesus Lizard, GY!BE, Perfume G, GAS, Montreal, Venetian Snares/Lanois, Kimbie
St. V, Tyler, Jamie, and Solange are all people I've seen recently that I will probably miss in conflict with the above. But if the schedule allows itll be hard to get me away from them.
Interested in Laurie Anderson, corbin/shlohmo, hecker, forest swords, j lin, and priests, oh and finally seeing B L A C K I E live.
Theres a lot I dont know between Corbin and Priests so should be fun to check all that out.
Must: NIN, Thom Yorke, St. Vincent, James Blake, Jamie xx, Phantogram, The Jesus Lizard, GYBE, Perfume Genius, En Vogue, Forest Swords, Jlin, Priests, Kaytranada, Earl, Jenny Hval, Saul Williams
Must-sees: Solange, Justice, Jamie xx, Nina Kraviz, James Blake, Gas, Bjarki Would like to see: NIN, Thom Yorke, St. Vincent, Tyler, Phantogram, GYBE, Sky Ferreria, Venetian Snares x Daniel Lanois, Mount Kimbie, DJ Tennis, Tim Hecker, Jlin, Priests
It's crazy to me that a lineup I enjoy so much has so much I'm not too fa
miliar with on first glance. Excited to dig deeper.
Given that list, you'll probably dig Andy Stott, Forest Swords and Demdike Stare.
Following up on this becoming a 5 Day Multi-Venue festival, no way I'm ever not going to go now.
As for my initial top acts:
Nine Inch Nails * Laurie Anderson * St. Vincent Pretty Lights * Shabazz Palaces * Lil B * G Jones *
* Have seen before.
Shit I don't know: Cardi B, Sky Ferreira, Gas, Venetian Snares, Princess Nokia, Kimbra, Mount Kimble, Corbin, Shlohmo, The Album Leaf, DJ Tennis, Tim Hecker, Forest Swords, Babyfather, Andy Stott, Jessy Lanza, Roni Size, Jlin (except that cmack likes them) and everything below Priests on the lineup.
Fuck ya another Lil B fan in the house.
Haha. I didn't want to be. I was going to see some other dub show at Buku the year that he played. Someone I knew told me I absolutely needed to be at Lil B so I decided to go in there with him. It was a very entertaining hour, and he threw shouts out to pretty much everyone who mattered here in the rap world. So he knew his history. Show was great too, because it was just him rather than a big entourage. I'll see him again even if some of the based god's stuff isn't exactly hard.
So whats the story with Rezz? I've seen the name before and just assumed it was bad EDM, but I'm listening to her now and it's not terrible.
she's on mau5trap, she opened for deadmau5 before his ACL aftershow as a replacement for ATTLAS, had no idea who she was going in but she did a really good job and was a great opener for him. since then i'm seeing her on a lot more lineups, including Roo and E Forest.

sounds good, thanks for your responses. I like that D4N just flirts with EDM.
i'm moving through the lineup and giving brief listens to names i don't know. Listening to Gas's 2017 release now.

i would probably take PL/Rezz over Kaskade/Odesza on a regular basis.
So my wife is only caught up on the flight prices. Tell me we can do this affordably. Everyone start the hunt for lowest priced flights!
Southwest flying out Thursday has $104 and $117 flights out of Charleston non-stop. Return on Monday starts at $145.00. No bag fees on Southwest, but you would have to pay taxes and airport fees. Not bad at all.

I found some decent prices out of Atlanta. Gotta sell her on it.
Out of Charlotte, it's dirt cheap. You have $102 for the flight out and if you catch the evening flight out Monday at 8:00pm, that's $104. Do it. Do it. Do it.

Atlanta is $80 (really early in the morning) and $111.
Nine Inch Nails Thom Yorke Justice (not a particularly big fan but I've never seen them) Tyler the Creator James Blake Pretty Lights Jamie XX Nina Kraviz GYBE En Vogue Lil B Venetian Snares x Daniel Lanois Mount Kimbie DJ Tennis Tim Hecker Forest Swords Roni Size Priests Bjarki Rabit x House of Kenzo
still tons of acts to research as well. my focus is on techno, industrial, techhouse sounds, so if anyone has any recommendations it's appreciated. Rhythmic/beat driven stuff is prefered but I can get down with the weirdness as well.
Judging by the description of what you like, I think you'd really enjoy Jlin
I don't get the Nina Kraviz hype, nearly every set I've heard from her she fucks up the mix numerous times. Loads better female DJs. Her only saving grace is she'll sometimes end sets with jungle/DnB.
Some straightforward beats @ 120 are what was missing last year. She might not be the "best", but she's definitely a suitable dance act and a nice alternative to Kaskade or whatever.
Agreed, speaking of Kaskade my girlfriend bought me tickets to his redux set in Columbus. He actually plays house and deep house there and its all in small clubs and is 21+ so that should be good. But yea big room Kaskade at DfN just seems weird.

I feel like her set is gonna have a heavy inforoo contingent (as it should)
