Does anyone know if Thom Yorke plays Radiohead material at his solo shows? Seems like he hasn't released anything in a little while, so maybe he's planning something soon.
I wouldn't expect any Radiohead songs. He'll probably just play solo stuff and Atoms For Peace.
yeah idk, they said more tickets this year, but last years map seemed more spread, that's probably the NIN v Aphex side of things. To FPH's mention of the Muslim ban, we also had Marcel Khalife & Co. last year which idk that there's an act quite like that on the line.
You got a link to that? I can't find it in a search on Chrome for whatever reason.
It's a sponsored FB post? Idk I couldn't re find it and then it just popped up.
It is originally from the festival's producer Omar Afra's FB page. he's an interesting follow.
I hope Thom plays against some bass-EDM like he did at ACL last year. He was mocking Major Lazer in between songs. "boomboomfuckingboom". Day For Night has proven they're too good to have anything like that though. Closest would be Justice I suppose.
Revisiting my schedule, I recall at the Yellow stage during the local metal band From Beyond (who had some downtime in between thrashings, and they had maybe 40-50 scattered people in the area), we could hear Nick Faker's sound from the main Red. Secondly, In between John Carpenter's awesome scores, the man would chat some charming corn at us about making the movies, and there was absolutely no doubt Run the Jewels was killin' it outside on the Blue. (man there were some tough fucking conflicts, sure to be repeating for 2017).
Again, these weren't serious issues to be concerned about - the layout of this festival is one of a kind and couldn't be better in my eyes, or ears.

Throwing this out there since we will probably have Pretty Lights doing a (decent to kick ass) night set of 75-90 minutes. No doubt PL will do something somewhere on the streets late night, but that will be Derek DJ'ing. You already know that if he's in town, there's going to be something underground going on. One of my kids' friends has ties to PL Fam, so if I hear of anything going down I will post it. For now, Night 1 from New Braunfels, TX because PL is cool enough to give you their shows for free. For that cool gesture, I felt obligated to donate to Direct Relief for victims of Hurricane Harvey. Sound kicks in at 9:45 CDT. /peace and recovery to all Texans
On the flip side however, the worst part of PL's new live show is him trying to freestyle every set.
Yeah. That's the negative. Also the 30 seconds he tried to sing a little near the end and was off key. Last night and tonight is Episodic 10 which they won't do again. The part 1 seemed to focus on "trippy." So we already know we won't get the same show. However I came away thinking that there's almost no chance it's not going to be a Top few show at D4N. As you said, infinitely better than Kaskade. I have no problem with grooving to that show which we now have seen Episodic 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 (went to E1).
Here is tonight's link to Pretty Lights Episodic 10 part 2. I expect a completely different show. Goes live a bit after 9:45 Central or you can probably watch it for a few days after at this link.

For my Houston and Texas savvy folk, I've got a question. I'll likely be working from the hotel on Friday before the pre-party, and have the option of staying either at the Holiday Inn in Downtown Houston (20-ish minute walk to the venue) or a Four Points by Sheraton at Greenway Plaza (13-minute drive). Does the downtown area or the Greenway Plaza area have better food/dining options?
Also, likely staying at the Hyatt Regency on Saturday and Sunday, which is a 15-minute walk to the venue. Is this a safe walk?

A) eh, they're both pretty solid locations for food/bars. Upper Kirby/Richmond/Montrose are all near greenway and there's all kinds of good stuff there, Downtown has your more high end things. Greenway is also pretty close to all the good museums if you wanted something chill to do in between. But really for food and stuffs being in those two areas are the best.
B) There are a handful of unsafe walks in town, they aren't near the fest. Or the other two area's you said really. I mean, don't go walking around with an iPad at night or anything, but I've walked around DT at all hours of the night, at varying levels of consciousness, and never felt unsafe really. Also, I'm sure while the fest is going on there will be an uptick in police presence.

Good to know about Greenway, tempted to keep that reservation just in case. I may look into some restaurants to see which area tickles our fancy more. Any recs for good Mexican or Peruvian food?
Also good to know about downtown, very happy the bookings aren't crazy like they are in Palm Springs during Coachella.

Hard no haha, pablo's got a better idea about the food scene tbh, he'd probably be able to give you a better idea.
