No because Clams Casino isn't that good and Arca's DJ set was one of the funnest DJ sets I've seen. I don't get why you're making this so difficult. There's like 30 Jamie sets on youtube, watch one and make your own decision.
Ok dude Clams Casino is one of the greatest producers out there and you're fuckin high to say otherwise. And yes you're right I will look at more cuz from what I've seen I didn't like. Didn't see anything from In Colour

Lol alright man. No it wasn't. Yes it was good for a dj set but I wanted the weird fuckin dark ass trippy music that Arca is known for and he didn't deliver.
being uneducated about how Arca was playing live was your own fault.
Well when I look online and see that he has videos of him playing shit off Xen and Stretch 2 like Brokeup, yeah sorry its a little misleading. Pitchfork this year I heard he actually had a normal set. Perhaps djing is whats bound to happen when you get over a 2 hour slot as a producer at a festival

he played Dreaming of You, by Selena, in Houston, I think he nailed it.

he's touring a live set this year to go along with his new album. he wasn't last year. It's pretty simple.

The one good thing about this discussion is I've learned that Jamie xx opened up with Kamasi Washington at the pre-Coachella party this year. A bit of a mood killer coming off Four Tet at the time, but it's a great track.
I'm not going to this festival, but there's no excuse for skipping Jamie xx for G fucking Jones.
Edit: Also, I saw Clams Casino dj a club near me at a Pitchfork After Party right when his last album came out. It was alright, not bad but nothing special. Definitely no Jamie xx though

Yeah but he changes his set depending on the crowd. I thought he was amazing at Day for Night last year. He played BUKU and my friend sent me videos...he basically played trap the entire time and it was awful. Artists cater to the general crowd and I hate that. Like Radiohead Bonnaroo vs Radiohead at an actual venue. Totally different setlist.

Also I hear what you're saying Jamie XX is obviously more significant than G Jones. But I don't typically care all that much for house music which is what it sounds like his sets are, even though strangely enough I have loved both of his albums (not sure what genre you wanna classify that as). My point being that I know I could brainlessly bang my head at G Jones. I don't wanna end up standing there nodding my head at Jamie from boredom. That's the only reason I ever even started this whole debate. Obviously G Jones is less talented than Jamie XX...but that doesn't necessarily make it the same as in a live setting.
Ok so I've been listening to some of G Jones and as somebody who generally hates typical EDM music I actually kinda like what I've heard. Makes me wonder if Jamie XX is the definite right choice. The way I'll know that though is whether or not he'll be doing a live set or DJIng. Cuz if hes just djing for an hour and a half I might do G Jones instead. If he's actually playing stuff from his first two albums and other tracks he actually produced, then its Jamie XX without question. Does anybody know?
G Jones is fine. I've seen him 3x and it was always a good show if you like harder shit. I haven't seen Jamie yet so I'll probably split.
Also, having only seen The xx and not Jamie xx, I have heard multiple people on Inforoo say The xx is boring and Jamie is better. The xx was fine. Both sets are like 90 minutes so you can sample both. At the same time, G Jones is probably 3rd hardest set of the weekend with NiN and TJL being a bit harder. Anyone is free to dispute that but they would be full of shit. Advice? See them both.

you've obviously never heard Bodak Yellow
Im not really a fan of that song, but I'm willing to give Cardi a shot Live. JHC, how do you know you went to ACL and Voodoo? When your stupid fucking iPhone autocorrects to a capital L in live.
According to the map tease they just shared on the D4N IG Story, the blue stage is in the same area, but they turned it 45 degrees and it now backs up to the leaking bathrooms.

Yup, Yellow Stage is where Bjork was, and they flipped Red 180 degrees, it's now facing the city, which I personally think is a TERRIBLE idea because of the way the parking lot sloped down. Now the view is going to fucking suck. What the hell D4N.

If this results in better sound and sight lines I'm ok with it.
Maybe they were forced to flip sides on Red due to sound bleed complaints from resident behind the post office. If they have the sound pointing towards the city it wouldnt hit that many residents. Still fucking sucks.
And Yellow Stage appears to be a 360 circle in the middle of the warehouse. The stage doesnt appear to back up to anything. Thats kinda cool.

Not sure how it could result in better sight lines when the way they had it last year was at the bottom of the slope, making perfect sight lines for people in the back to look down over the crowd in the front.
