Could RHCP be in play? Open on this weekend and never played plus they fit the rock type HL slot. Some other acts id like to see are Pusha-T, Pardison Fontaine, RTJ (how have they not played yet). I have no idea what Philly's Most Wanted is doing these days but it would be cool if they played since there is always plenty of local influence on the lineup.

i like pusha and RTJ for this as well. i'm also thinking maybe the lox or fat joe (signed to roc nation, new music, etc). but fat joe is playing roots picnic so who knows.
i also feel like haim will probably be back this year.
they've always played here in the past. so i agree its odd they skipped philly. maybe they're playing the 104.5 show in september? they played a block party in the past

fair enough, though the september 1045 show is being advertised a bit differently than the other block parties. i'm assuming it'll be more like winterjam, which had grouplove and phantogram this year. was just thinking that made more sense than them flying all the way out here for MIA on the 3rd.

September 104.5 block parties usually gets a decent sized artist. Last year was CHVRCHES and Miike Snow. Also Alt - J played the same venue where the block parties are last year. It's possible they play.

Yep. Though this year the Sept show is called "Endless Summer" instead of Block Party and is at xfinity live

Never a good sign when the people like us who bought the "previously attended" early bird price pay the same price as the regular early bird people. Assuming price will get jacked up as soon as lineup comes out. You just would have assumed that regular early bird would have been a little higher priced.
hah right. why bother to have two different pre-sales like that then. im glad i grabbed 2 passes, figure selling one gets me my pre-sale money back plus an additional 1-200.
16 didnt but 15 did quickly and they added more tickets, then sold out again. beyonce effect.
2015 was such a fucking travesty. The city allowing them to sell 10,000 more tickets (thus overloading it to 70K people total) and then justifying it by saying they used it as a test-run for when Pope Francis was to appear a month later. Except for the fact that a company got to profit more at the expense of prior ticket purchasers.
The major also justified the lack of water options by saying that the crowd up front for Beyonce chose to stand their all day, so it's not the problem of the festival or the city. What a jackass.

I remember shoving a bit closer to see Phoenix in 2013 and people were PISSED because they were waiting for her. Also, one of the oddest live show experiences ever was seeing The National play to a sea of Kanye West fans in 2014.
oh man i dont like the National and remember hanging back inbetween the 2 main stages just feeling bad that there were like 20 people there for them. i was able to get a decent spot for Kanye right as he started though, but it was one of the worst festival sets ive seen. last year was really young but thats a given but the grounds were much cleaner and felt like much less of a cluster.

When Matt Beringer walked through the crowd during Mr. November and Terrible Love, my brother was shoved into a bunch of people after which a thug tried to pick a fight with him. Luckily he managed to resolve it peacefully ("here, shake my hand" while making eye contact), but it definitely put a damper on the set. Luckily Kanye killed it right after, which made lining up early totally worth it.

I guess the obvious Tidal guesses for headliners and second line talent would be Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj, Linkin Park, J-Cole, Deadmau5, Calvin Harris. Then maybe other people who are on tour such as Incubus, Muse, Jimmy Eat World, Thirty Seconds to Mars, and then two EDM bigger names like Alesso and Galantis (usually they take two "big" names not preforming at Electric Zoo in NYC that same weekend) and obviously plenty of rappers mixed in. Just simple guesses based on previous years.
ill be so mad if J Cole plays for 3rd time in 4 years and even more so as a HL. its not like they just book Tidal artists. Muse playing FF prob makes them less likely and Jimmy Eat World is here in July. No idea who the top billed EDM act could be. Im sticking with my Kendrick/RHCP pick

Linkin Park would make sense. Incubus is playing Philly on 7/20 so likely out. Muse IS back in San Francisco 9/15 so...could be possible.
