I prefer quality over quantity. I think less fests will mean that.
Yes, it is good that the bubble burst in the long run. I remember watching the roo lineup announcement in 2013 and buying tickets after years of dreaming to go. Haven't seen a lineup since that awed me like that. Some decent lineups still came and went (Coachella, day for night, roo 14 and 15) but nothing amazing.
Clear out the deadwood now any maybe feativals will go back to being stacked sometime in the 2020s

Rock on the Range is dead.. Or at least rebranding itself. Sounds like the owner had a falling out with AEG. Going to be called Sonic Temple from now on.

Carolina Rebellion gone in the same spat between Danny Whimmer and AEG. Some other smaller fest in a new location to replace it.

Sucks to hear. Never went but I always got hella tips that weekend.
although i hope to be wrong cause I always wanted to make it there, after this year things seem kinda grim for Riot Fest
True. Dropping Denver and then the various headliner issues this year... not many positive signs.
For what it's worth, Blink said in their statement they're coming back to headline next year though
The Denver/Toronto drop was due to one of the organizers dying. Apparently that person did a significant amount of the logistic work and they haven't been able to replace them yet. Probably for the best that they scaled back to steady the ship instead of trying for force it. Hopefully they can hire someone in the coming years.

Part of me is kinda glad the bubbles popping... Things seemed spread so thin
I kind of agree with this but the most likely outcome is that all of the unique and independent fests will disappear and we’ll be stuck with the giant boring ones owned by livenation and aeg.
If the significant amount of deaths at Lost Lands is true, it might be 2 and done for X and crew in central Ohio.
no official new reporting on the deaths yet, seems to all be rumors at this point.
glancing at the top comments on the Lost Lands subreddit it does seem like it was a logistical shit show this year, with some shady vibes as well.
justinmn9319 you're probably sound asleep or otherwise recovering, but check in with us when you can to let us know you are OK. hope you had a blast this weekend.

yeah rumors at this point but one girl has confirmed her husband died. Last year had some flaws in logistics but it wasn't bad. It legit sounds like this year was an absolute clusterfuck that wiped out any and all value of camping. Normal GA camped in quiet camping, 6+ hour wait times, legit running out of camping, volunteers knowing zero about the fest, etc. I drove by the fest on Friday and Sunday (it's right off a main highway) and people were camped at BP. The campgrounds come up close to BP but people were legit camped right next to it (less than 10 feet away). They also had water well failures that caused major issues with getting water in the campgrounds. I am so thankful I didn't go this year despite living 25 minutes away. Diehard "headbangers" will always create a big enough fanbase to keep this fest near sellout capacity each year, but I find it hard to believe local officials are going to let this happen next year if even 1/3 of the rumors are true.
