Here's an article confirming that 2 people passed that were attending LL. Sounds like personal health factors may have played a pert in both but it confirms at least two deaths.

That, and several people on reddit report not being pat down whatsoever entering the fest. That's just dangerous. Add on clueless staff, kids looking to get sloshed, the heat, water not working properly, etc. all while being in the middle of Ohio... it's the perfect storm.
If the significant amount of deaths at Lost Lands is true, it might be 2 and done for X and crew in central Ohio.
no official new reporting on the deaths yet, seems to all be rumors at this point.
glancing at the top comments on the Lost Lands subreddit it does seem like it was a logistical shit show this year, with some shady vibes as well.
justinmn9319 you're probably sound asleep or otherwise recovering, but check in with us when you can to let us know you are OK. hope you had a blast this weekend.
entering on thurs was def a cluster fuck. we ended up being in line for about 4.5 hours. they accidentally corralled about 100 cars or so on this sideline waiting which i ended up in. we were waiting in a group to wait in line all why the dumb volunteers and cops really didn't seem to know what was going on. the check was slow going in because they were actually looking quite hard into cars. taking out almost all of the people's things in some lines. by the time we got to the front they searched us for maybe 5 min, similar to a bonnaroo search of doing a look around and letting us on our way. there were no metal detectors at the entrance to the music grounds. there were rumors on the first day that they found an ar-15 with mags and fetynal. it turned out to be a marine that had 4 empty mags. still somewhat scary but the rumors flying around the campgrounds even got to a cooler full of fetynal.
all that being said, holy shit the production on the two stages there is just unreal. i mean i love excision so take it fwiw but there's not a chance in hell i won't be going back there again. lasers dinos and fire everywhere. we did stay at camp most of the day cuz it was pretty fucking hot.
sunday afternoon around 3 or so a worker came over and gave us the "i'm sorry to be the one to have to tell you this but we're asking people to leave before tonight if they can because there is heavy rain coming in. the app is updated with new set times". so we went in and enjoyed our last night and then headed to a hotel about 20 min away exiting for an hour or so with everybody else trying to leave too.
djturn2 we were actually camped quite close to that BP sign. we were still in the field but close to it. i didn't hear anything about them running out of spots but that doesn't mean it's not true

Death at a music festival is a terrible thing. They are always preventable.
We don't talk about the basic rules of festival going in the summer months much around here anymore. Maybe because we are mostly older, maybe because most of us don't do the camping in 90 degree heat thing as much anymore. But as long as you drink plenty of water, limit your alcohol intake, and perhaps most importantly, don't put any substance in your body if you don't know exactly what it is (BYO or test), you are going to have a good time and stay alive.
justinmn9319 thanks for checking in, glad you had a great weekend.
With Chris Stapleton and AF this year it seemed like they were trying to expand their fest which backfired I guess. Shame man, but the list goes on.
The headliners were bigger but the lineup as a whole was pretty poor. Definitely worse than the last couple imo. They were clearly having a lot of trouble selling tickets, and then (due to weather and subsequent mishandling) the festival ended up being a total disaster. Most of the people who actually bought tickets were extremely unhappy.

I’ve been to all four. This year was disappointing to say the least. Not their fault with the weather but it still sucks to see it go.

Grandoozy is officially on "hiatus"after one year 🙄
I'm trying to think of a festival that's come back after hiatus.. wayhome doesn't seem to be coming back, supposedly Meadows might come back for a day. Anyone?

Didn't Treasure Island come back? And yeah, with Pano gone, Meadows coming back makes sense. FYF, per Paul, will likely come back soon. Also, Coachella took a year off after the first year and came back.

Coachella
That's kind of a different situation... I guess I should have specified more recently with the whole festival bubble thing.
Of course I have a wedding the weekend of desert daze this year. I hope one of those Woodstocks is worth going to
For those near Vancouver there's been lots of festival casualties in recent years. Squamish/Pemberton/Sasquatch/Virgin festival are gone and I just found out that Skookum Festival in Stanley Park(Killers/Florence headlined inaugural 2018 version)won't happen in 2019, though they claim 2020 is happening.
I've also noticed that Rock the Shores in Victoria has yet to announce July 2019 dates, yet Rifflandia Victoria already has their Sept 2019 dates up.
