So it seems a lot of the lineups this year have become very similar and lackluster outside of the top line, even the headliners in some case (cough***wayhome***cough). Is 2017 the year that the bubble bursts?
Many festivals out there are offering discounts and other ticket perks to help drive sales due to the soft market, this really wasn't common practice up until this year. A lot of the EDM festivals seem to be struggling in particular (college ID discounts lol, who that isn't of college age is going to these anyway?), which I guess isn't surprising since it seems almost every major metro area has a local EDM festival and they all have similar lineups for the most part. Which festivals could possibly not return next year?
I don't have high hopes for Landmark after this year. I think it probably did fine in 2015, but the lack of any publicity around it for this year makes me think it might not be high on its organizers' priority list.

No ones worried about hangout cause they're killing the game right now.
But yea idk how long euphoria will be around after this year. They seem desperate. Even offered me and my group from last year free camp and VIP to make up for the shit that happen to us last year and we turned em down.
Also not very positive there will be a 2018 middlelands.

LMAO Krisp. Hahaha.
Not many worry about Hangout because it's Hangout. You love it, but there's a reason you're 200 pages light for 2017 as compared to 2015. And if you weren't as hyped as you have been, it probably doesn't make 50 pages. So I'll credit you with keeping a buzz. However, I'd love to see them fail miserably and be forced to reintroduce a quality booking agent like Huka and get this high school shit off the beach and into a CYO or Church or something. F'n assholes. Also, it's a relatively middle-sized American fest in the grand scheme with only about 35-40k attendees on a given day.
I think Euphoria might be history. They are offering any manner of discounts, have emailed me asking what it's going to take to get me back. There's not enough music I like this year to consider it, but if I lived in Austin, San Antonio, New Braunfels or Houston, I'd probably drive over for a day or two, especially with $40 day passes available from 3rd party sites.
This is more of a walk-off homerun than it is calling it quits. Borgore.... Getter.... Jon Bellion... it's the same as when Ted Willams hit a HR in his final at bat. Once you ascend to the apex it's time to bow out.

Maybe so. But they have too much invested in the site to kill it off. Maybe they find a new business model or something.
Euphoria had a 2 for 1 deal a few days ago. I think Middle Lands is going to squeeze it out. It might have one more final year to attempt since it did very well last year and every year before it.
Can't believe Philly is shutting down the Roots Picnic....any reason why?
Unfavorable to me but I wonder if MW keeps Sound on Sound going after this next year.

What about Sasquatch? I thought the lineup was pretty good last year, and it sounds like no one went. The lineup this year has some gems, but I don't know that it will do any better.

i know, did you see me in there? i killed!
Yeah. You came up and said what's up. I was dazed. Haha. I actually had a good ass time at Euphoria despite the aggregate plants throwing so much dust in the air, the hill, the lack of food in the campground and other minor issues. I'm sorry I couldn't get back there this year, but I have other shit I have to do. I'm bugging that I can't see Disco Biscuits, but there are only about another 8 or 9 acts I like. So I'm blowing it off this year. They have a cool fest though and I'd like to see them make it.

Oh my bad. Roots Picnic seems dope so it'd be a shame for it to go.
Why do you think that? I realize they had that tragedy and now they had to cancel Denver. But between Chicago and Denver the last few years, I felt like those lineups were as good as anything else. And Denver last year with Jane's, Nas, Sleater-Kinney, Deftones, 2 Chainz, Yo La Tengo, Descendents, NOFX, fucking Suicidal et al is like a rock dream come true.
..waka..
Yeah man. I'd give anything for that to come back with the same VIP perks. What you got was unparalleled for the price. It hit home once me and my youngest did Bonnaroo VIP and were just left flat by how bullshit it was in comparison.
How about Electric Forest? I never paid it much attention. The atmosphere looks amazing, but the lineup seems a little weak for my tastes, personally.
they expanded to two weekends, first weekend is sold out. they seem to know their fanbase and book acts accordingly. EF will be OK for the foreseeable future.
