It's pretty good. He's never been my favorite, but this sounds the most interesting to me of anything he's done since the early EPs I guess.
I'm most interested to see how he works these songs into a live set with the singles from his last couple albums. The tempo will be such a throttled start/stop if he tries to just mix them in, so feel like the set almost has to start slow and go fast or start fast and end slow.

wtf? lol I haven't even listened to the new songs yet but artists mix fast and slow stuff throughout concerts literally all the time. This seems like such an insane concern. Really curious to hear the new album now

I guess that was a poor job on my part to say the songs are just so aesthetically different from the past two albums, it's going to weird to see him do like one of these into Starboy into another one of these into I Can't Feel My Face. It's not as easy/normal as like Kendrick doing fast-slow-fast with like DNA into Loyalty into Humble where the songs at least all fit together. So mentioning speed isn't the biggest thing, it's just that the songs seem like odd fits into a set focused on his other material

Main set with Trilogy/Kiss Land/My Dear Melancholy tracks, and then an encore with all the hits (CFMF, The Hills, Starboy, I Feel It Coming, Pray for Me). Would be ideal.

An encore isn’t enough to contain all the hits. There are far too many.
Yeah, assuming he gets 100 minutes, I think he opens up with a few new songs, mixes in a trilogy song or two, and the last hour is essentially the hit parade. I would imagine he has a new stage setup for the whole thing.
Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like the new tracks are on par with Starboy. I don’t feel like it’s much of a departure from what he’s always done or much greater than his last effort tbh. It’s fine.

I never thought I'd say this again, but I actually really like the new Weeknd album. I couldn't listen to Starboy at all, and Madness got old immediately. But, I'd really appreciate him finding a way to work the Triology mixtapes back into his live show with this new material. On first listen, I definitely like these 6 more than anything I've heard from him in years.

The new Weeknd EP is for sure heavier and darker than his last few projects. The production has much richer textures, his vocal performance and lyrics are incredible, and it feels like he’s really playing to his strengths on it. Not knocking Starboy or BBtM but this is peak Weeknd.

If it's like last year, a week and a day. The leaked media schedule has set times and the map coming out next Thursday, which would suck. My bet is next Wednesday, but we'll seeeeee.
My guess is map next Monday night, set times next Tuesday at 5 PM. I bet they've got a lot of stuff they're moving around with the major re-shuffling this year in Sahara, etc. so would imagine map is late Monday, maybe even Tuesday morning.
IIRC it's only gone to Wednesday morning once in the last five years
Recs? Last year I really enjoyed the paella from both stands and a taco salad I got at some stand at the back of the Main.
-Bludso's: BBQ spot in Hollywood. Probably my favorite BBQ in LA. Love that place and sounds like it'll be perfect with a craft beer
-Eureka: We had a Eureka burger a couple years ago and were so in love with it, we stopped at Eureka on the way back to LA on Monday afternoon. Shake Shack is the big name, but I think Eureka has the better burger
-Trejo Tacos: Danny Trejo's taco spot in LA. I had them at a Rams game this year and was pleasantly surprised
-Little Damage: Ice cream shop in downtown LA that always has a line out the door. Have actually had it (walked by it twice but the line was too long) but heard its amazing
-Milk Bar - NYC based dessert shop known for their cereal ice cream. My gf loves this place so will be super stoked
Sweetfin Poke and Sumo Dog also big names in LA fast casual
