Seriously though, there's gonna be thousands of people just homeless stranded in Indio. I get that the palm tree fell last week but Christ. This is gonna be suchhhhhh a shit show.

It aint no joke there right now.
I get it but I don't get what we're supposed to do? Sure they're removing their own liability but They're not actually offering any solution.

Even if they let people in but dont allow setup of tents/canopies, you're still stuck sleeping in your car either way. Though it would eliminate a monstrous line on Friday morning to get in.

The weather advisory says the worst of it will be Thursday morning. My guess is they let people in earlier than they're claiming and the search process will be quicker.
Curious what they're going to do about all the Thursday airport shuttle people.
im driving with my brother and we have two people flying in and they're supposed to be shuttling in Thursday night to camp with us. We have no idea what we're meant to do. And yeah you can probably rule out the first half of Friday if you're camping.
Glad they're still tweeting out dumb Q&As and ads but not answering anyone's questions though.
Yo phy, I'm assuming you know where the closest casino to Indio is?
I stayed at the Agua Caliente my first year. It was a fun mix of retirees and festival goers (20 minutes from the campgrounds, right off the interstate)

There's actually a bunch of casinos in Indio/Palm Springs. The closest to the actual festival site would be Augustine, Fantasy Springs, and Spotlight29.

Agua Caliente is definitely the nicest/biggest in the valley, but like you said about a 20min drive from festival site.
If you're coming from LA, Morongo will be your closest one probably and maybe your best.
The year two of our friends literally flew from New York and showed up to the wrong weekend their friends at a house they ended up staying at Agua Caliente - so don't think their rates are insane if you need a place to crash

Sold out tonight, 196 Thur night, and 600 on Fri night. 196 for the day before Coachella is an insanely good price.

Yeah if I was planning on camping tomorrow, I think I'd still drive out, lock down that $196, still enjoy the day, then try to get in line 4 or 5 AM Friday. Prob a 25-30 min drive to the fest from there.

I went to high school with the kid who posted that video lol
You'd spend $200 to stay in a room for a couple hours?
If I was planning on arriving camping at noon Thursday and going camping with 3 buddies, I'd for sure keep my plans arrive at Agua Caliente at noon, hang out by the pool and gamble all day and sleep in a bed for ~6 hours for $50 per person vs. just leaving Friday.

You're looking at it all wrong. It's a casino. You're not spending $200 to stay in the room. They're paying YOU hundreds, maybe thousands, of dollars to stay in their room for a few hours.
I think my sister and I are just going to enjoy LA for the night then drive to Indio around midnight. Any dinner suggestions?
What part of LA are you in? I live in the Hollywood area so I'm biased, but here's a couple that are decent priced, good food type places:
-Jones Hollywood: Cool rock vibe restaurant serving typical American style food, drinks all have cool rock inspired names -El Compadre Hollywood: My favorite Mexican restaurant -Delancey: Hidden Italian gem -Bludso's: insane barbecue (they are at Coachella)

Not staying the night so we can go wherever. That Italian place is sounding pretty good
The campground being closed sucks so much. We were planning on leaving at 3am tomorrow to get a super close spot, now I don’t know if everyone in our group will even get to camp together.
I think we might go to the jungle show at Pappy and Harriet’s tomorrow night now instead.
