Nooooooope.
I will say I've messaged around 25 houses on airbnb asking what their pricing for Coachella 2018 will be, and most of them are $700-$1000 a night. I've only had one place under $500 and it only slept 6 people. The most expensive so far has been $17,000.
Houses are even more expensive than I thought, honestly.
$1,000 per night for a 10 person house is fairly standard.
After taxes, cleaning, and any booking fees it's like ~$450-500 per person for 4 nights unless you a.) get a screaming deal or b.) pack the house with +10 people
The current theory is they're booked for South American dates in March 2018 already ending two weeks before Coachella, they said on some radio station interview that they're "going to be playing some big shows next spring," they did the same thing in 2005/2006 where they played LA dates in late 2005 (they are playing Hollywood Bowl in October) and then came back for another round of U.S. dates around Coachella in 2006, etc. So we're nine months from lineup drop, but that's a decent amount of evidence and makes a lot of sense to go with Beyonce and a '17 GV leftover (Chance, Frank, NIN).
I'd be interesting to see from this poster if it's a "scoop" or he's just heard the same things.
Not quite. The spring tour was mentioned on the Depeche Mode forum and one of the mods specifically said, "Coachella".
Well, that's even stronger evidence then assuming they know what they are talking about.

Yeah, it didn't seem too outrageous to me honestly, especially for somewhere where no one would have to share beds.

Camping is my preferred way to do Coachella. I feel like Matthew McConaughey in Dazed & Confused. Plus, I'm not tempted to sleep in or pre-game too long and miss out on festival action.
As much as I'd love to stay in an air conditioned house, I feel like I would end up missing so much of the festival. I camped at an RV resort in 2015, and missed a handful of acts everyday thanks to the pool.

Which weekends are you all assuming?
April 6-8 April 13-15 April 20-22
I think the latter two would be more like 2016 and 2017 dates, but 2015 was earlier for weekend 1 (enough that I think I remember people on here being surprised and quick cancelling hotel rooms for April 8-10 last year).

I'm assuming the latter two, but like you said it could always be the first option. Personally I always go Wk 1, so I book lodging for the first two options and just cancel one.
11/19: Caribou 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol
I've suggested this too. I think out of all the possible major reunions out there, it's one of the most likely ones to happen at some point, and we can only hope that point will be sometime in this political climate. A Beyoncé/RATM/Gorillaz bill seems entirely plausible.
Or, if for some reason Gorillaz don't work out, my money's on Vampire Weekend for the coveted "Are they big enough?" headliner spot.

You're on point. Makes sense. I think 2018 is a real possibility. They were just named eligible for the Hall of Fame next year and they'll make it in. It would be a great way to enter into their 2nd reunion.

People have tried for years to book Rage Against the Machine and offered piles of money.. The hold up is Zack. Money doesnt motivate him, hes made enough, isnt greedy, and isnt interested. He has his own solo thing in the works too. I am sure he'll shit on Trump on that thing. Rage aint happening.
