Depeche Mode Arctic Monkeys | Beyoncé | Swedish House Mafia
I don't think they'll go big bucks on each headliner nxt year because I have a feeling they'll be saving up for something big in 19'.Like I think Arctic Monkeys is one of those smaller headliners that isn't extremely expensive like Beyonce but can still have a large draw. I like where your head's at though.
I don't know if they'd even have Gorillaz back. They played to a half empty field last time. Just because they're active it still doesn't mean much.
The more I think about it though, that set could make for some solid guests. Gorillaz could also offer an alternative to Arcade Fire round #3 (though that Forum date still has me skeptical).
Beyonce - Gorillaz - Arcade Fire
alternates - NIN, Depeche Mode, The Weeknd, U2, Metallica (already have euro dates, nm)
second line guesses - Phoenix, ATCQ, Lana Del Rey, Major Lazer, Frank Ocean, Odesza, Aphex Twin, Haim, Big Boi, Soulwax, Grizzly Bear, Eric Prydz, Jawbreaker, etc.
other sub options - Vampire Weekend, QOTSA, Pretty Lights, A Perfect Circle

The anniversary angle is purely marketing, they're not going to have less this year at the expense of an anniversary year.
Also, Coachella will let Ultra pick up the SHM bill.
•Vampire Weekend -Björk-The National-The Chainsmokers-Miguel-HAIM ---Young Thug, The War on Drugs, Charli XCX, Joey Bada$$
•Beyoncé -Lana Del Rey-Missy Elliot-Fleet Foxes-Alesso-Grimes ---Dirty Projectors, Lil Yachty, Franz Ferdinand, Passion Pit
Pretty solid, although I don't know if it would sell me a ticket. Feels like it might need one or two more big name EDM acts, also move Rae Sremmurd down and throw in Run the Jewels
There's something about Tame Impala being a top 3 act at the major festivals that doesn't sit right with me. Mid size fine, but I feel like they haven't done anything to go from subs to headliners now. I guess it could change by next year but I'd be surprised with that jump.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but Depeche Mode have South American/Mexican dates scheduled for March 2018...seems to make them a little bit more likely. However, they're playing 3 sold-out shows at the Hollywood Bowl in October.

Edit: moved some things around.
I don't think the chainsmokers would be billed any lower than second on the day they played. They are probably even a borderline headliner at this point.

If they release another good album then they could definitely make that jump. They're also GV darlings.

So I'm sitting at LAX waiting for a flight (only 4 more hours due to a delay FML) and I thought I'd share my thoughts on my first Coachella while it's all still relatively fresh in my mind.
Tame Impala would headline next time, but they already subbed for Currents so not yet. Arctic Monkeys (who played at 4 PM last time despite headlining all over the world) will not headline. They will not book Timberlake if they have Beyoncé.

Arctic Monkeys or Vampire Weekend seem likelier to headline over Tame Impala.
Gimme that Kanye redemption set.
Vampire is your most likely of all being that they already subbed AND have new material. Arctic Monkeys would probably still sub at this point or close the outdoor, Strokes style.
Edit: actually Vampire could probably take that strokes spot also

The current theory is they're booked for South American dates in March 2018 already ending two weeks before Coachella, they said on some radio station interview that they're "going to be playing some big shows next spring," they did the same thing in 2005/2006 where they played LA dates in late 2005 (they are playing Hollywood Bowl in October) and then came back for another round of U.S. dates around Coachella in 2006, etc. So we're nine months from lineup drop, but that's a decent amount of evidence and makes a lot of sense to go with Beyonce and a '17 GV leftover (Chance, Frank, NIN).
I'd be interesting to see from this poster if it's a "scoop" or he's just heard the same things.
Not quite. The spring tour was mentioned on the Depeche Mode forum and one of the mods specifically said, "Coachella".

-The National: New album sometime in the next 12 months, good GV relationship, 7 years since Coachella, just give them that Bon Iver slot before Beyonce next year and call it a day -Alt-J: Not my favorite band, but Panorama act playing the Shrine in the fall and would guarantee a big crowd in that third to last main slot FJM had this year unless the new album is a total flop -HAIM: Would be surprised if they aren't booked with their return and SoCal roots -Fleet Foxes: Robin P said they are aiming to play Coachella 2018 so I will take their word they get it done -The War on Drugs: GV favorites; getting that underdog second line bump up like Future Islands makes sense to me -St. Vincent: Seems to play the fest every album cycle, this may be the year she finally gets main stage -As surprises I'm going to guess this is the year My Morning Jacket finally make it back on the poster and also they book Paramore after that Riot Fest booking. Hopeful it's Arctic Monkeys instead of Alt-J but I'm not too hopeful
That's a pretty solid start without getting creative at all really
I'm not sure she would play other than headlining anymore and doubt they book her with Beyonce booked. I would think both parties would be interested in waiting for '19, but if she wants to sub next year, I'm sure they'd book it.
