well, its not entirely wrong. anschutz owns goldenvoice, which by extension means he owns coachella. and frankly, it should bother people, especially when one of the men responsible for curating perhaps the most famous festival in north america turns out to be against a very large portion of their consumers.
Wake me up when they allegations come against Paul Tollett, Skip Page, etc. Anschultz curates Coachella as much as I do.
He has very minimal day to day involvement in anything Goldenvoice does. I highly doubt Perfume Genius, etc. would have signed up to play the festival this year if it truly was a big issue, and until performers start pulling out, I'm sure they understand better than I do how much of an issue this is.
I think you're misunderstanding why people have a problem with this. Its not because Anschutz is super hands on with putting on the fest. Its because he benefits financially from the fest. If you buy a ticket to Coachella, you are giving money to Anschutz. I personally only bothers me a little and I might even go back to Coachella one day, but I get why it bothers others more.
As a gay living in Denver, I can’t really let the Anschutz thing bother me. Every good music venue here is owned by AEG. Plus I’m sure the owners of Livenation aren’t any better than him.

How much money am I realy giving him though? 250,000 tickets sold. Don't think that all or most of that ticket money goes to him. And don't even think that majority of Coachella's profits go to him. He is already so rich and just makes money off of SOOOO MANY other things than Coachella that it seems like the money made Coachella is just a fraction of what he receives.

If you have made enough money to own or run one of these types of companies, you have probably done some pretty bad stuff. I think the larger issue in all of this is that theres pretty much two companies that control all of the live music scene in the country. Thats pretty bad
The TOTAL price, all fees included, is $443.12. Thats an INSANE price for 4 nights in Palm Springs during Coachella.
And this wasnt booked through Booking.com where they cancelled some rooms. I booked with the hotel directly when I called them about the Booking.com dispute and paid everything in advance, and even have a receipt/confirmation from the hotel themselves.
The first person who agrees to PayPal me the $443.12 gets the room, though I'm giving KPO first crack at it since he already asked. If he passes, its open to anyone.

Edit: I’m gonna email my professors and see what I can do though. The more I think about the more I can’t pass this yp

Ok, so katy said he's going Weekend 2, so the room is available. Anyone on here want it before I sell it off elsewhere? I'll give it like 24-48hrs before I look elsewhere.
Got back this morning from a weekend in Joshua Tree for my girlfriend's birthday, rented a nice house with a hot tub by the national park entrance, went hiking on a few trails, then went to Palm Springs on Sunday and walked around and spent some time at the new Rowan Hotel in downtown Palm Springs.
Awesome weekend and really got me jazzed to go back in a couple months, I love the area so much.
I’m finally getting planned for this because I was at GovBall and Mexico both times tix went on sale respectively. I’M GETTING SO EXCITED Tyler, David Byrne, and Beyoncé are great 21st birthday presents

How was the new hotel? We do the best western every year but I wanna pop along and check the new place out.

It was pretty sweet - had an awesome rooftop area with a couple cool restaurants and an outdoor poolside bar. I don't normally think about Palm Springs and rooftops, but this was about 6-7 stories up and had great 360 views and cool location next to the mountain. I imagine it would be an arm and a leg to stay there, but worth stopping by for a drink assuming they let non-residents up for Coachella week.
What are some good rock bands on this lineup? I like David Byrne, King Krule, and Alt J as much as the next guy but I would like a little bit of a less left field act. Not huge on WoD. Looking more in the field of Pond/Car Seat Headrest
