Peter Gabriel doesn't seem to be at the same level as the last DT headliners. Has he headlined stadium shows in the U.S.? Maybe if they had a day with Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins playing solo sets, then a full Genesis headlining set?

Last time he did a solo tour in the US looks like 2012, and while he played the Hollywood Bowl, he mostly played Red Rocks level venues. He toured again after that in 2016 playing arenas, but that was a weird Sting + Peter Gabriel thing where they switched off songs.
That said, I'm not sure Bob Dylan is or was able to consistently sell out arenas when he played DT either. I'm honestly not sure with Dylan though, since he actively chooses to play smaller theatres a lot. I saw him at Shoreline Amphitheatre in 2013, but that was on a tour with My Morning Jacket and Wilco when both of those bands were also arguably bigger draws than they are now.

Opening night for Springsteen included 28 songs, Candy's / Kitty's Back (!!) / Brilliant Disguise back-to-back, E Street Shuffle, Johnny 99, Because the Night, and some live debuts of covers and songs from Letter to You. Pretty massive set for opening night
I'm good with that. A second trip to the Polo Fields this year would be expensive lol. Hopefully the stadium dates are announced soon so I can plan more of my fall.

Not sure I can name 5 acts (that are actually possible) other than Bruce I'd want to see to justify a DT II, so I'd rather not spend $5k on a Bruce set and some acts I only kind of care about
The GA tickets in 2017 sucked and my buddy and I got lucky getting gifted floor bowl seats on Sunday from a couple random people who couldn't go back Sunday that we met on Saturday, so I definitely would have paid up for the stadium seats
Doubt is fair. I would highly advise making cheap hotel reservations for the first (and possibly second) weekend in October on spec.

Yes I know lots of people who make them every year in Oct in anticipation of DT2 or rumored EDM fest or Fallchella or whatever other stuff was discussed. The difference is this year you can actually use them.
