I'm assuming all this teasing of "SOON" might lead to an announcement before the New Year but if tickets don't go on sale until 1/3, I guess there's not really a point. With the Coachella news, kinda nervous that I bought a 3-day pass. I also think people are over-estimating Eminem being able to move a lot of tickets.

Well, not that I thought Beyonce would play GovBall, but it looks like Eminem and The Weeknd are probably out, too, what with the AEG of it all. Interesting.
Kinda figured. Just pair him with some decent rock/indie acts and it won't look as bad.
Wait, are y'all saying you think Eminem will play both Coachella and GovBall? Aren't AEG and Founders/LiveNation in direct competition? I'd imagine headlining Coachella would rule Eminem out for GovBall entirely.

I would think ACL’s budget is bigger than GBall but that’s all my opinion, I have zero data to back it up. Been around longer and I would think the capacity is larger. I’ve been an outspoken Frank Ocean hater which I know is blasphemy around here, but I really hope he’s not top 3. I’d prefer top 4 with an alternative option if at all.
I mean he sucks live but I'm in the camp of liking his older stuff. I hate when artists do partial songs like he does too. His Lolla show had a ton of great songs but it's hard to get too into a live performance when it's mostly backtracking and he only does 2 mins at a time. But with him seemingly pulling the Chance The Rapper '17 tour strategy, I'm not gonna let it bother me much. I was weighing GBall with Roo anyway and it sounds like he's probably gonna be at both so it's a wash imo. PJ would make up for him without a doubt, not expecting them tho.
So I have a question about this. The Chance strategy with every festival in the world booking him made sense last year. He had a hit album, insanely popular and hot with a ton of grammy and other nods, and seemingly wasn't that expensive to book since he was 3-4 on most bills.
From what I'm hearing Eminem is far more expensive to bill and will be a #1 on most lineups. So if every festival under the sun is getting him, is it worth paying that outrageous booking fee? His career was already on the downturn and it's not far from an exclusive booking, so I think this may speak to the pure desperation for headliners.
