The Garden is the worst arena in the area by the way.
Everything about that venue is fucking appalling. Wish Barclays Center would just get all the NYC bookings of arena shows.
Ugh fuck that. Barclays is such a pain in the ass to get to. Maybe I'm missing something, but MSG is my favorite arena. Every subway takes you there or close enough, the chase bridges are a great view for cheap seats, and I actually kinda love that they separate the floor. I like being in the back half of the floor and have easy access to the bar that no one uses. Literally takes 90 seconds to leave my spot, get a drink, and be right back where I was.

My beef with MSG relates to the following:
-Higher ticket prices due to its location. -Crappy sound played at a volume that doesn't all the way reach the back of the venue. -Too many corporate partners who dip into the pool of available tickets. -Related to the above point: attendees who have no business attending, and ruin thr show for others by shout-talking loudly over the music (and try changing your assigned seat at a sold out concert). - Airconditioning blasted all the way up, not only making it much colder, but effectively chilling the ambiance. -The setup of the seats going back way too far, unlike Barclays which has more of an incline and allows you to feel closer to the stage. -The GA floor split in half.
Obviously other venues (particularly sportarenas) suffer from these things as well, but MSG is uniquely awful due to the cumulative effect of all of the above.

I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why MSG can never just have a full GA floor. Literally EVERY arena in all of North America allows for it yet for some reason they have to split it. My theory is that artists can make a ton of $ by dipping into the secondary market for the front GA.

Yeah, that theory makes sense.
If I have to say something nice about MSG: they at least allow enough people to fit in the GA West Floor section, unlike, say, Agganis Arena in Boston that does the same setup yet severely limits the amount of people that are allowed in that very front section. Which is great if you are one of the lucky few to have a Floor 1 ticket, but the massive open gap is a vibe killer for everybody else looking at it.
I mean I don't know your musical taste but I'm gonna say worse. The 2 scoops we've been provided are 1. Likely Not gonna change your opinion on the lineup and 2.It's NOT Lord Huron

Is it Passion Pit? Need to know if I should go to the show this Saturday at T5 or wait for Gov Ball. No need to see them twice in a year once is enough.

I've had them bail on me 3 times. Id go to the T5 show and hope they're up against someone good for gov ball. Halve your chances of having them cancel on you
Looking like YYYs and NERD are both exclusive to this fest.
I have to say, both NYC summer fests have done a good job providing something special the past couple years in an increasingly homogenous fest landscape.
I need NERD at MIA or Roots picnic Philly but Pharrell headlined the Philly picnic last year so the NY version makes sense for NERD. They are a big draw for me at a festival this year so i hope they pop up elsewhere, otherwise might have to attempt a day pass here

I'm not sure what's going on with MIA this year. Their contract with the city expired in 2017.
