Well Gambino didn't sell-out the The Garden, and pretty much looks like Smashing Pumpkins situation..no one is willing to pay that much for upper seats.
I'm looking at the Gambino map now and it looks like there are at most 150 seats left. I'd pretty much call that a sell out.
Continuing the topic of crazy expensive concerts, I just got curious and looked at the 30 Seconds to Mars show at MSG. I have no desire to go, but I was just curious. Lower bowl tickets are $170 after fees and upper bowl are almost $100 after fees. WTF! When did this surge happen? And who the hell would pay that much to see this band.
That tour has pretty stacked support (draw-wise) with Walk The Moon, Misterwives and Joywave buy, yeah, seems ambitious in both venues and pricing. I bet they can do like 6-7k in sales and then paper the rest. 30STM is huge in Europe so I imagine they'll have a crazy big production for this tour which drives up the cost.
I'm kinda hoping I can find a cheap ticket the week of, just so I can see the crazy production I'm sure they'll have (plus This Is War was actually a great album).

In New York and LA especially - but in a lot of big cities as well - I think a lot of corporations, media companies, etc. have contractual arrangements to take tickets especially with sports tie-ins. My last company had 4 Lakers season tickets and I'm pretty sure Staples Center / AEG made them take a certain number of concert tickets as part of some package. So if you know you can sell out half the arena because corporations have to take your tix, you can charge $170 and screw over the common person.

Must be unique pricing in NYC, most markets the tour is priced $27-$99.

I really enjoy his solo stuff but i'm a sucker for Jack White and like all of his projects to varying degrees. I like his folky/acoustic side even if some find it gimmicky. He's definitely a diva, though, and knows how to rub people the wrong way.

I didn’t have time to finish the profile, but halfway through they start talking about various ways he is actually trying to be less tiresome on this album. In his own special way, obviously.

lol it even starts strong hahahaha
And he's not sorry, not at all. Yeah, he threw a punch or three. "Sure, but so did Johnny Cash," White says, leaning forward on an olive-colored upholstered armchair in his windowless, tin-ceilinged wonderland of an office, deep within the Nashville headquarters of his Third Man Records.
"....well yea....but I'm like Johnny Cash...so...."

Dude keep reading. He also compares himself to Michelangelo and winning WW2.

Yeah he was totally comparing himself/his music to those.
I mean sure he thinks way too highly of himself, but come on. You know that's not what he was attempting to imply
I’m not being negative! He analogizes himself to both those things and it’s straight bananas. This profile gave me warmer feelings about Jack White than I’ve had in a minute.

Yea, to be fair, any time some popular or rising artist gets a huge article/spread about them like this they can tend to come off weird and self-glorifying. I also love Donald Glover but that great piece that recently came out where they're implying he has a superpower for being able to become amazing at everything and be able to read people like a machine also made me chuckle. I don't know if it's just what the artists say themselves or maybe that combined with the way the authors portray the setting/story.
Either way, everyone tends to have their "We're bigger than Jesus" moment when they reach a certain level.

Yeah I actually thought it was a pretty solid picture of who the guy is/where he's at in life. The writer does a good job of poking fun where it's needed
Pretty sure I have said before that they are doing Forest Hills on here. But I am just legit not on social media right now. Sorry if you took it the wrong way.
Forest Hills is going to get a lot of good shows this year. Pretty positive Arctic Monkeys are doing two nights there instead of Pano in late summer early fall.
OMG if you're right about Arctic Monkeys I'm gonna lose my shit. I'm moving to Forest Hills in 3 weeks, only a couple blocks from the venue, and I'm so stoked to hit up all these shows.
People hate on the 10pm curfew but I love it. I guess I'm an old fart who likes to be in bed at a reasonable hour haha.

Boom
This is too much, the NYC summer concert schedule is way too good this year. And it definitely looks like they are anticipating a second night. I'll for sure be at both!
I don't care for his music at all, but his attitude about music is hilarious. And anybody who rips on hacks such as DJ Khaled like that is cool in my book.

I had the same reaction to DJ Khaled's "They said we'd never play at the Grammys" shit. Like..who the fuck said that? He's a very successful producer of pop music. Playing at the Grammys is basically a given.

That is using the term "play" very liberally. I would argue they let him shout at the Grammy's.

I just don't get DJ Khaled. Like, I know he puts people together on tracks and has the "idea" or whatever but does he do anything besides shout out stuff on releases? Does he make any beats or do any actual rhyming? Basically I'm just amazed at how big he has gotten for what he does. But I'm old now.
Wonder who's opening for AM and, yeah, the two day gap in between obviously indicates a 2nd date will be added. On another note, is Sam Smith still big enough to play 3 area arena shows?
