I just want to make sure that there aren't any last minute changes that need to happen before rule changes become more of a process. Give it a few more minutes.
For example, The Magnificent Seven (both of them) are remakes of Seven Samurai. If someone drafted Seven Samurai, would The Magnificent Seven become ineligible?
I think that the proper approach is to draft the original. That would take the remakes off the board.
To clarify, I have added rule 18
18) If you are drafting a remake as your film to be remade, previous iterations of the film are still fair game. Subsequent ones are not.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
Is this still open? I've never done a draft on here, so I'll probably suck at it, but I could give it a whirl.
You make twenty. Are you up on the rules or do you want a few minutes to familiarize yourself, ask questions, etc. before the first participant goes on the clock?

Question: What if the movie you're remaking is an adaption of a book or play but the movie used a different name? Can we use the original book/short story name?
For example, We Can Remember It For You Wholesale instead of Total Recall?

I think that we may conceivably end up in a gray area there that could get us off track. I think that we need to keep the title of the original film.

I ask for a specific reason but it's not that important I guess. I can just go with another adaption of the source material.
